One of the competitors for a reserve role on the Chiefs’ offensive line will reportedly miss the first four games of the 2014 regular season.
According to Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star, Chiefs offensive lineman Rokevious Watkins has been given a four-game ban for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
The 25-year-old Watkins played three games for the Chiefs in 2013, making one start at left guard. He was a fifth-round pick of the Rams in 2012.
This is Watkins’ second suspension stemming from the substance-abuse policy. He was banned one game a season ago.
