The Seahawks have waived/injured an offensive lineman who started eight games for them a season ago.
The club announced Saturday it was placing second-year tackle Michael Bowie on waivers with the “injured” designation.
According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, coach Pete Carroll indicated Bowie had a substantial shoulder injury.
If Bowie clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve.
A seventh-round pick of Seattle in 2013, Bowie started seven games at right tackle and one at right guard in the 2013 regular season.
The Seahawks bolstered their options at right tackle earlier this week with the signing of Eric Winston, an experienced starter at the position. Breno Giacomini, who made the bulk of the starts at right tackle for Seattle a season ago, signed with the Jets in free agency.
