Linebacker Trevardo Williams didn’t last long in Houston despite being a fourth-round pick in 2013.

Perhaps he’ll have better luck in Arizona. The Cardinals have claimed Williams off of waivers after the Texans waived Williams on Friday.

Williams, the fourth member of the Texans’ 2013 draft class to leave the team, spent the 2013 season on injured reserve and was waived just after passing his physical and moving onto the active roster. He had 30.5 sacks at the University of Connecticut and will try to show that pass rush ability while trying to make the Cardinals’ 53-man roster out of camp.

He should get a chance to do that while the Cardinals wait for John Abraham to make his first appearance at training camp. It’s unknown when Abraham, who was arrested for DUI in June, will be making that appearance.

The Cardinals released cornerback Todd Washington to open up space for Williams on the roster.
