David Gettis has now failed to stay healthy for half the NFC South.

The Buccaneers announced that wide receiver David Gettis had been waived with an injury settlement.

Gettis was once a phenom with the Panthers, but a series of injuries kept him from ever duplicating his 2010 performance, when he caught (37 catches, 508 yards and three touchdowns, including the memorable 88-yarder from Brian St. Pierre).

Gettis only played two games the next three seasons.

To fill his roster spot, the Bucs brought in local safety Mark Joyce from South Florida, an undrafted rookie who was in their May minicamp on a tryout basis.
