The Browns have signed first-year tight end Kyle Auffray, he confirmed to PFT on Tuesday.

NFLDraftDiamonds.com first reported Auffray would be joining Cleveland.

On Twitter, Auffray wrote Tuesday: “#DawgPound.” He worked out for the Browns before signing.

The 27-year-old Auffray had a brief stint with New England this June, and he also spent about two months with Arizona in the 2013 offseason.

Auffray (6-5, 254) played college football at New Hampshire (2008-2010) and Mississippi State (2006-07). He played tight end and also punted at New Hampshire after playing quarterback at Mississippi State.

Auffray is one of five tight ends on Cleveland’s roster. Jordan Cameron, the top target at the position, is dealing with a shoulder injury.

  1. Astonishing how one kid completely changed the landscape of a franchise. Without Manziel, pft would have never posted this on their site. Who cares about Auffray? Is this even newsworthy? Next up – “Miles Austin shows new strides in camp.”

  2. More newsworthy than your post. Don’t like the article don’t read it. Posters like you bring nothing to the table. Next up petezjunior falls of the face of the earth. Now that would be worth reading.

  3. It’s about time this news was announced. I see 88 catches for 1274 yards, 9 tds, 4 offensive holding call, 2 offensive pass interference calls against and 2.5 special teams tackles for this stud. Jeesh.

  4. Shanahan’s run-first, zone blocking requires quick, run-blocking tackles. Better to “look see” these guys now, before the season starts.
