Jerry Jones was entertained by a Cowboys practice fight

Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones witnessed a practice fight over the weekend, and he liked what he saw.

Jones’s reaction to seeing J.J. Wilcox and Dez Bryant go at it was not to express concern about injuries, or about players letting their tempers get the best of them. Instead, Jones came away impressed by the way Wilcox can throw a punch.

I don’t want any of Wilcox,” Jones said, via the Star-Telegram. “He’s got the fastest hands on the team and I just want him with me. That’s the quickest I’ve seen on a football field. He can put ‘em on it. Plus, he’s not afraid to go getcha either. That was one of the best little tit-for-tats I’ve seen in 25 years.”

Wilcox and Bryant both said after the fight that it was just a sign that they’re all competitors, and Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the same. Perhaps other players who want to get noticed by the owner/G.M. should pick a fight on the practice field.
