Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph said he expected to be back “in the near” future after being shot in the leg, but that might mean a few more weeks.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Joseph is expected to be ready for the regular season opener, but could miss the next few weeks.

Joseph was standing inside a Minneapolis nightclub when shots rang out, with one hitting him in his calf.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, all nine people inside the club who were shot were expected to survive. No one has been arrested, but local authorities said the shooting was gang-related.
