Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin injured his hamstring on Wednesday and didn’t practice on Thursday, making it highly unlikely that he’d be in the lineup when the Eagles played the Patriots on Friday night.

Whatever chance Maclin had of playing was extinguished on Friday afternoon when the team announced that he wouldn’t be in the lineup. Maclin said Wednesday that he hoped to play, that would probably be the team’s decision even if he wasn’t a little more than a year removed from tearing his ACL.

Riley Cooper is also being held out of the game as he’s only a few days back from the foot injury that sidelined him earlier in camp. That leaves Ifeanyi Momah and Arrelious Benn to start at wide receiver with Brad Smith in the slot. Rookie Jordan Matthews should also see plenty of time at receiver.

The Eagles are also short on running backs with Chris Polk, Matthew Tucker and David Fluellen all sidelined. Henry Josey will get a chance to show off his skills once LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles call it an evening.

Cornerback Nolan Carroll, cornerback Jaylen Watkins, center Julian Vandervelde and linebacker Jake Knott are also out for Philadelphia.
