Broncos cut Kevin Vickerson

Veteran defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson did not make the 53-man roster in Denver.

Vickerson, who started 11 games last season for the Broncos, was cut today, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

The move comes as something of a surprise considering Vickerson’s status as a starter last season, but the Broncos are deep on the defensive line, and they decided to go with younger players including the 25-year-old Marvin Austin, who signed with Denver this year.

Vickerson will become an unrestricted free agent immediately.
