The Colts’ cuts to 53 players include a guy who started seven regular-season games a year ago.
Gone, per a league source, is linebacker Kelvin Sheppard. He appeared in 15 regular-season games, and he started both postseason games for Indianapolis.
A third-round pick in 2011, Sheppard started 15 games for the Bills in 2012. He was traded in 2013 to Indy for defensive end Jerry Hughes.
Sheppard, who is in his fourth season, will be subject to waivers. Don’t be shocked if someone claims him.
