Wide receiver Nathan Palmer didn’t have to wait long for a promotion from the Broncos practice squad.
Palmer was one of the final cuts in Denver and he’s now got a spot on the 53-man roster after Wes Welker’s four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy was announced on Tuesday.
Palmer caught one pass for seven yards for the Broncos in the preseason. He also played five regular season games for the Colts in 2012 and his one catch lost four yards for the offense.
With Emmanuel Sanders, Andre Caldwell, Cody Latimer and Isaiah Burse already on the roster, Palmer may not get a chance to nudge his career yardage totals into the black but he gives the team another option while they wait for Welker to return.
