Pete Carroll: Seahawks didn’t tackle well enough vs. Packers

The Seahawks look like the best team in the NFL, but coach Pete Carroll says they can get better.

Specifically, Carroll says the Seahawks could tackle better than they did on Thursday night against the Packers. According to Carroll, Packers running back Eddie Lacy

“I was disappointed that we bounced off the guy as much as we did,” Carroll said. “We tried to hit him more than tackle him and that’s why he was a little more effective than he should have been. [Lacy] only gained [34] yards, so it’s no big deal, but our expectations are higher than that. Those guys will all look at that film and they’ll all be disappointed that they didn’t stay with the tackling plan that we had.”

Carroll is a connoisseur of fine tackling, and it’s not surprising that he saw some things on Thursday night that the Seahawks’ defense could have done better. But if the Seahawks are going to get even better on defense than they were against the Packers, that’s a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.
