One of the Raiders’ key offensive players reportedly is dealing with a hand injury.

Tailback Maurice Jones-Drew had a “procedure” Wednesday on a hand injured in Sunday’s loss at the Jets, Fallon Smith of CSN Bay Area reported. However, the injury is not regarded as serious, according to Smith.

Coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Jones-Drew is “day to day,” CSN Bay Area reported. According to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune, Jones-Drew’s injury is a new ailment; the back also had a hand injury in the summer, per the Tribune.

Jones-Drew was not present at Wednesday’s practice, according to multiple reports.

Jones-Drew played 28-of-51 snaps in Week One, rushing for just 11 yards on nine carries and catching two passes for 12 yards.

If Jones-Drew were to miss any time, Darren McFadden would be the Raiders’ clear-cut featured back. Fullback Marcel Reece could also see more work in such a scenario.
