The initial diagnosis for Bengals receiver A.J. Green was turf toe.  That initial diagnosis has changed.

Per a league source, Green is now believed to have a strained ligament in his foot.

It’s unclear whether it’s the same injury that caused him to miss practice time this week, or whether Green has suffered a new injury.

Green left Sunday’s win over the Falcons in the first quarter, with what was described at the time as a right toe injury.

  1. Turf toe is a sprained ligament, a sprain of the plantar plate. Florio I would love to be your medical editor, but only if you bring back TurdWatch and DaysWithoutAnArrest Meter.

  2. Look on the bright side – if he has to sit out a week, he’ll have a chance to watch some of the other nfl games to see some quality football, for a change.
