Report: Mark Ingram to miss several weeks with hand injury

The Saints will be without their leading rusher for the next several games.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, tailback Mark Ingram sustained a hand injury in Sunday’s loss at Cleveland and will miss “about a month.”

The Saints’ bye is in Week Six (Oct. 12). On the timetable reported by Schefter, Ingram’s status for the club’s next three games (vs. Minnesota, at Dallas, vs. Tampa Bay) could be in doubt. The Saints return from their bye with a road game at Detroit on October 19.

Ingram has had a strong start to the 2014 season, racking up 143 yards and three TDs on 24 carries.

With Ingram out, Khiry Robinson, Pierre Thomas and Travaris Cadet will be the Saints’ top three backs. Robinson could see the biggest increase in work, as Thomas already is a major contributor in the passing game.

He probably injured his hand beating his fiancée or child – you know how these nfl players are

    Stop it.

  2. Wow.. I’ve had so many players on my fantasy team hurt/suspended this season. The NFL is a lot of fun these days. I try to watch every game I can from opening touchback to finish but I’m losing interest fast.

  3. He is on pace for 1,144 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns.

I know everyone here is obsessed with fantasy football, so let me spell it out for you:

That translates to 258.4 fantasy points for the season.

  4. I don’t know why everyone forgets Pierre Thomas that guy is awesome and was one of the main reasons the Saints won Super Bowl 44.

I mean yeah his runs aren’t fancy and stuff but he consistently breaks tackles and finds holes. He just has the natural instinct a running back needs.

I mean it took Ingram damn near 4 years to stop running into the backs of his offensive lineman. Even now he still does not have any patience when running.

I’m just a little worried it’ll take Khiry Robinson some time to find his way and by then Pierre Thomas will be old and crusty and retired.

I mean I know Thomas is the unsung hero, but, let him be the actual hero and save our season, lol.
