Colts receiver Da’Rick Rogers has been arrested on a drunk driving charge.
Rogers was arrested last night for driving under the influence on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, according to FOX 59. According to the report, Colts cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy was a passenger in the vehicle Rogers was driving.
The report says Rogers was pulled over at 3:35 a.m. after he was seen driving on and over the yellow line. A breathalyzer revealed that his blood-alcohol content was between .08 and .15.
Rogers is a very talented receiver who has allowed off-field issues to hamper his career in the past. As a sophomore at Tennessee in 2011, he led the SEC in catches and receiving yards. But he never played for Tennessee after that, getting suspended from the team for failing drug tests before transferring to Tennessee Tech.
The 23-year-old Rogers was undrafted in 2013, spent training camp and the preseason with the Bills and then signed with the Colts after he was cut by Buffalo. Last year Rogers played in five games, starting three. This year he has been inactive every week. Given that Rogers is buried on the depth chart anyway, it wouldn’t be surprising if this arrest costs him his spot on the Colts’ roster.
