The Titans officially brought safety Bernard Pollard’s season to an end on Wednesday when they announced that the veteran has been placed on injured reserve.
The move comes as a result of the ruptured Achilles that Pollard suffered during last Sunday’s loss to the Browns. It marks the first time in Pollard’s nine-year NFL career that he’s landed on injured reserve.
Tennessee will turn to George Wilson to replace Pollard in the starting lineup and they’ve added another defensive back to the roster in the spot vacated by Pollard. They announced that they’ve signed cornerback Brandon Ghee.
Ghee was a Bengals third-round pick in 2010, but was never able to carve out a regular role in the team’s secondary during his time in Cincinnati. He played 23 games over the last four seasons and failed to make the Chargers out of training camp this summer.
