With two linebackers declared out and another listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at Atlanta, the Bears have brought in some extra depth at the position.

Chicago has signed rookie linebacker DeDe Lattimore from the practice squad, the team said Friday evening.

Lattimore (6-1, 237) played in all four exhibition games for Chicago, making nine stops in the preseason finale vs. Cleveland. The Bears signed him to the practice squad on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Lattimore was a four-year starter at South Florida, recording 213 tackles, 15 sacks and seven passes defended. He signed with Chicago as an undrafted free agent in May.

Earlier Friday, the Bears (2-3) ruled out starting outside linebackers Lance Briggs (ribs) and Shea McClellin (hand). Also, second-year linebacker Jon Bostic is questionable with a back injury. Bostic has started the last three games in place of McClellin.

With Lattimore added to the roster, the Bears waived/injured center Taylor Boggs, who had been declared out of the matchup with the Falcons (2-3) with a hamstring injury. If Boggs clears waivers, he will land on injured reserve.
