Jets fear Brian Winters has torn ACL

Cornerback Dee Milliner isn’t the only Jets player who may be done for the year.  Per a league source, the Jets fear that starting right guard Brian Winters has suffered a torn ACL.

An MRI on Monday will determine the damage.

While teams always fear a torn ACL when a player suffers a knee injury, manipulation of the knee can give some clues about the stability of the cluster of bones and ligament and cartilage.

  1. And all this time, I thought Brian Winters was a guard for the Milwaukee Bucks back in the 70’s and 80’s.

  10. Doesn’t it seem like the Jets are deliberately tanking the season? Not spending $20MM in cap space and making some very odd personnel moves. The concentration of the defensive side of the ball and turning the roster. If that was the strategic plan why did they add Vick and Johnson to the roster? The answer to that is that they are big names with relatively small contracts who can be dumped. They are letting Brady get another year older, hording cash, and letting Rex (a fan favorite) play himself into a termination. The Jets fans need to fire their owner by not buying tickets and not showing up.

  14. Woody needs to sell the team, this team will never win with this fool being the owner. Remember in the pre-season Rex told everyone that the starting QB would be a group decision of Rex, Idzik, and Johnson. In no way do I see Rex keeping Geno in at QB, even to begin the season I know Rex wanted to start Vick since he’s coaching this season for his job. Rex’s defense is the only reason they have been in games, late into games. Jets have no offensive players, Idzik signed a has-been in CJ and Decker had inflated stats from playing with the greatest QB of all time in P. Manning.

  15. This is why I don’t like Thursday night games. Both Jets, and Pats are really banged up. Three days rest is not what the doctor would order. So the winner of this game might be the loser in the long run.

    And what’s wrong with that? Mediocrity never gets you anywhere. Idzik knows that. They’re saving cap room because it rolls over. Next season they’ll have a 20m higher cap ceiling. The jets stink. They need a makeover. Full makeover. Keep the d line and a couple o linemen, maybe the rb committee, and get everyone else out
