The Bears made a change to their defensive depth on Monday, signing rookie cornerback Terrance Mitchell from the practice squad and waiving second-year linebacker Terrell Manning.

The move was declared in the NFL’s daily transaction report.

Mitchell (5-11, 195) had been on the Bears’ practice squad for the first six games of the regular season. The former Oregon player was a seventh-round selection of Dallas in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The addition of the 22-year-old Mitchell gives the Bears as many cornerbacks as linebackers (seven).

The 24-year-old Manning played 16 special teams snaps in Chicago’s 27-13 win at Atlanta on Sunday. The Bears added him to the roster on Saturday with linebackers Lance Briggs, Shea McClellin, Jon Bostic and D.J. Williams ailing.
