The Cardinals got quarterback Carson Palmer back in the lineup last Sunday after he missed three games with a nerve issue in his shoulder, but they didn’t take things easy on him upon his return.

Arizona put the ball in the air 44 times during the 30-20 win over the Redskins, completing 28 of them for 250 yards and two touchdowns. On Monday, coach Bruce Arians admitted he felt a bit concerned about how Palmer’s shoulder would respond to that workload but that the concern has subsided.

“Until I saw him,” Arians said, via the team’s website. “Now, he feels great.”

Arians said that he hopes Palmer will be able to practice without limitations this week and the team sent a message that they feel comfortable with the health of both Palmer and Drew Stanton by releasing Dennis Dixon from the practice squad on Monday. Dixon was signed last week when starting rookie Logan Thomas was a possibility, but the depth chart has returned to its original state as Arizona prepares for their trip to Oakland.
