Patrick Willis unlikely to play this week with sprained toe

Willis

49ers linebacker Patrick Willis injured a toe on Monday night against the Rams. It apparently will keep him from playing on Sunday night against the Broncos.

Per a league source, Willis has a sprained toe. It’s currently unlikely that Willis will play this weekend.

Willis will be evaluated by the same specialist who has been treating Bengals receiver A.J. Green’s toe ligament problem.

With NaVorro Bowman still out following a torn ACL suffered in the 2013 playoffs, the 49ers may have to face the Broncos without two of best linebackers in the league.
