Sherman, Thomas claim they saw no evidence of Harvin not fitting in

The magnitude and details of the reports emerging since the Seahawks decided to trade receiver Percy Harvin point squarely to Harvin not being a fit with the Seahawks. Two of the team’s most prominent defensive players disputed that notion after Sunday’s loss to the Rams.

Safety Earl Thomas, asked whether he saw any proof that Harvin was a bad fit, said (via Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune), “No. I thought he was a great guy.”

Cornerback Richard Sherman, on the same topic, was even more concise: “I did not.”

Given the weight and clarity of the reports — and the absence of any denials from the team or Harvin — it’s hard to regard the comments from Thomas and Sherman as anything other than a couple of former teammates trying to avoid a potential minefield. Indeed, quarterback Russell Wilson didn’t say he hasn’t seen proof that Harvin was a bad fit.

That’s nobody’s business,” Wilson said.

And all that that implies.

  1. Whether he fit in with teammates or not, if he actually refused to go into the game last Sunday, then he did not fit in with the coaches idea of a team.

  2. Instead of talking about Harvin can they please ask Rich about Austin Davis going 18 of 21 against the self proclaimed greatest D of alltime.

  3. twinkle twinkle little star how the seahawks are falling apart. They won a title cheating last year, not so good without a needle in the rear

  4. Interesting that here are two DEFENSIVE players saying they didn’t see any issues. How many offensive players have said the same?

  5. Offensively that’s the best Seattle had looked all year… special teams was a nightmare, and defensively they were okay, but created no turnovers and let the Rams score TD’s instead of field goals in the red zone. Look at the box score of the Rams Seahawks game in St Louis last year, it was a miracle they won.. Seattle won the box score game big today, but those hidden special teams yards were a dagger.

  6. No evidence? The fact that he was just traded away for a bag of chips is about all the evidence anybody needs. 2nd time he’s been shipped out of town at that. Dude’s a cancer.

  7. Attention Seahawks haters, you have no clue what the NFL code is. What happens in the locker room is not allowed to be talked about. Whatever Sherman or Thomas opinion is of Harvin, they aren’t going to tell the media. Obviously, a lot of key players didn’t like Harvin’s act or he would still be there.

  8. Who cares at this point. Champs looked like chumps on special teams. Fix your current issues and don’t cry about the old ones

yeah, but of course, you do.

  10. Pete Carroll is the one who is being very closed-mouthed about Harvin. Perhaps Harvin said something to Carroll.

  11. The Seahawks had 470 yards of offense, i don’t think they missed Harvin. The Rams won, kudos, but they won because of a Fake Punt and a no call on the Punt return (dupe PR called a fair catch)

  12. I love Wilson’s “that’s nobody’s business” comment. Hey Russ, Mr.Choir Boy, Mr.Team Leader, just admit you had both Tate & Harvin dumped from Seattle so you could get paid, nobodies gonna crucify you homie, get them checks! Lolololololol

same exact comment in numerous hawks posts. trolling at its finest. answer me whens the last time a hawks player was popped for peds? ill wait. anyhow I noticed Seattle had 3 late game 80+ yard drives, something this offense has failed to do this year which is one of the few silver linings. two games in a row the defense had a chance to win the game with a stop and came up short. I do think when it comes to the percy trade, theres a lot to this we don’t know and for PC purpose its getting blanketed. sooner or later we all will know the truth.

  14. It’s funny to see the haters dismiss Seattle completely. Its going to be a challenge to make the playoffs, but would anyone like to play them in January? If the season goes downhill, then John Schneider will make the necessary changes to put them back in the mix.

  15. Seahawks traded a player. It’s not a Herschel Walker deal. Let it go. Quit diggin’.

Or maybe you media clowns are getting manipulated again just like with those alleged DeSean Jackson “gang ties” that got him cut because the team realized they didn’t want to keep paying a salary they thought in retrospect was a bad deal for them. Harvin simply wasn’t worth the money these dummies gave them, they fed you a juicy locker room cancer story because it’s so easy to buy with Harvin, and you ate it up as usual. Never mind that it’s pretty easy to go back and see if guys who allegedly got beat up had black eyes and busted lips when people said they did. Does anyone actually work in the so called journalism field anymore?

  17. Still waiting for the ban on the term(s) “hater, haters, hating”. I know the use is popular, but it’s like a 16 year old insulting you. Whatever argument or statement you’re trying to make gets diffused when it’s used.

So no one here is one or doing it, they’re just handing out plates of crow or letting you know how hard it is to repeat in the NFL.

  18. Acehawk55 I believe u get “down voted” for actually caring wether your up or down voted. 3-3 is not a lost season but watching some of you guys fly off the bandwagon is embarrassing

Sounds like you’re whining and making excuses. I thought only niner…oh i mean…whiner fans do that.

  21. A QB/RB who rarely throws for 300 yards, has Golden Tate shipped out at the end of last year (that’s nobody’s business either huh?) , and then has Harvin sent packing… He has plenty of heart but that whole team is being exposed.

  22. “Not a good fit”. That’s management talk for uncontrollable employee. Anytime a person doesn’t walk the company line they create a problem that doesn’t exist and then employ character attacks.

Percy can be on my team any day.

  23. Even as a Hawk fan have to say that Sherman had the ball between his legs and NOT in his hands when the pile joined the fray and obliterated the view of the ball. Hate to say it, but for once Blandino got it right.

Media are asking questions about Harvin, no one is seeking out reporters to make statements or give sound bites. No whining involved.

LAST year they were arguably one of the best. This year.. Red Bryant, Chris Clemons, Walter Thurmond all gone. Jeremy Lane, Bobby Wagner and Byron Maxwell out. Playing a guy who couldn’t make it on the Colts(Burley), a practice squad call up(Terrell), what is essentially a rookie coming off two surgeries(Simon). This is no where near last year’s D.

  24. Seattle has the most positive test for ped’s since 2010! Same year Pete Carroll took over and Bruce Irvin suspended in 2013 for Ped’s. League begins testing this year and seattle began losing. Twinkle twinkle little hawks cant win without the needle in the butt. Not gonna win the championship this year, because they wont’ get the extra boost in the rear

    Lie or just ignorance?

    Either way you’re wrong.

  26. The Seattle Seahawks lead the NFL in suspensions for performance-enhancing drugs since Pete Carroll became coach in 2010, research by ESPN Stats & Information shows.

If they didn’t see a problem with Harvin’s antics, that tells you all you need to know about those two.
    ——————

What? Neither of us have any idea what went on in that locker room. I’m sure they’re trading Harvin for a reason, but if Sherman/Thomas really didn’t like Harvin, or if Harvin was that much of a cancer, then why lie? Neither would have any reason to at this point in time. Multiple Seattle players have expressed discontent with Harvin’s trade (and more have mentioned they had no issue with him whatsoever), so it’s not a stretch to think that some players actually wanted him on the team. I’m just sayin.

  28. Team coming unravelled. One and done.

Where are all the 12’s now…running your mouths.

Bandwagoners creeping away now that their team is mediocre once more…

  29. It is funny to read Seahawk fans crying about the refs. We didn’t hear a lot from you when the Zebras were helping you finally get a trophy.

Wilson is still the only QB to throw a game winning interception.

  30. revren10..how convenient that you took an article from May of 2013 that doesn’t include 2013 or this year when ZERO Hawks have been suspended. NFL handed out 15 PED suspensions in 2013..Irvin the only Hawk. NFL has handed out 13 so far in 2014..ZERO Hawks. Learning how to do a little critical reading would likely go along to helping you in life so you aren’t sucked in by every snake oil salesman giving you true but inaccurate information in order to swindle you out of your money..

League starts testing for HGH and the seahawks keep losing. Time to face the truth your 2013 title was won on PED’s

  32. November 24, 2013 4 games Walter Thurmond

    December 18, 2013 Brandon Browner

    May 17, 2013 4 games Bruce Irvin

and the season is still young for more Seahawks to get caught cheating. Most positive test since 2010.

  33. In other words, nothing since the beginning of last year. Good job with the lack of evidence.

  34. Carroll and the GM call the shots. If players are not happy with the trade, they can always ask to be released or traded to the Jets.

  35. What happened Sherman??? Legion of Bust got your tongue? Rams QB tore your overrated defense up yesterday with the highest QB rating ever. Missing Red Bryant will impact your defense just as badly as kicking Golden Tate and Percy Harvin in the teeth. Your Legions of Doom will be crying in their $12 beers just like all them other losing seasons again.

  36. Rams QB tore your overrated defense up yesterday with the highest QB rating ever…

TORE up the Seahawks defense?!? Rams QB had 170 total passing yards, all dink and dunk. Didn’t target Sherman the entire game. Remind us all again how well the Niners did against the Broncos last night? I’ll take a 2 point loss over a 30 point blowout on National Television anyday.

  37. Speaking of League testing, notice how Patrick Willis is suddenly unable to play?

    __________________________

Are you suggesting Patrick Willis faked an injury in the middle of a game to avoid getting popped for PED’s? Sounds logical. Sorry, but he’s always been a class act who wouldn’t stoop as low as cheating with PED’s like the Seahawks have grown accustomed to.

  38. Who was the last Hawk to get suspended? Irving beginning of last year? Maybe its my perception but the fourty whiners have had alot more issues with suspensions than us and what about Denver’s guys not knowing it’s wrong to take ecstasy? Whatever, the calls have sucked and the Hawks defense is NOT as good as last year so what I still think the Hawks are the best in our division and maybe the league. Any bandwagon fans that joined up recently… I for one didn’t want you and therefore don’t care if you leave.
    GO HAWKS

We played a 4-1 team, you played a 1-4 team

  40. We played a 4-1 team, you played a 1-4 team

    * * * * *

The 4-1 team was given the *-1 by the team that lost by 2. Also, the 49ers are 4-3 (No Bye), Seahawks are (3-3 Bye). They are on par with each other…Also note, the Rams offense was helped by Special Teams. If it wasn’t for the fake punt in the 4th Quarter, the Rams possibly would have lost, as the Seahawks Offense was walking over the Rams Defense. Further they Rams got helped by the TD Punt Return (Not related to offense), and the 75 yd Kick return.

If the Punt return was not on the scoreboard, take 7 away from the Rams, and possibly would not have won with Rams at 21. Also if the Kick return was not a huge return, setting up the offense, that might not have been scored. So lets just take away another 7.

That leaves the Rams offense with 14 points against the Seahawks. That is NOT being TORN UP. Torn up is what happened to the 49ers 42-17 (7 points of which came from the backup QB and not Kaepernick)…

  41. mcdubois65 says:

Boy that is ALOT of IF’s, just face it…you lost, your team is mediocre at this point.

I do have to admit though, the punt return was classic, future generations will enjoy watching it on the football follies
