It’s looking less and less likely that the 49ers will have linebacker Patrick Willis in the middle for Sunday’s game against the Saints.
According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, Willis was not at practice today, meaning he’s been out all week with his toe injury.
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio referred to Willis as “questionable” yesterday, though that was more of a descriptive word than a technical injury report designation.
Barring a late comeback, that would mean another start in the middle for rookie Chris Borland, who hasn’t played poorly.
But it still creates a potential mismatch for Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, and another headache in a season full of them for the 49ers.
