The Chiefs have looked to another AFC playoff contender’s practice squad for some tight end depth.

Kansas City has signed tight end Phillip Supernaw from Baltimore’s practice squad, the club said Tuesday. A first-year pro, the 24-year-old Supernaw has appeared in three games for the Ravens this season, catching one pass. He also appeared in one game for Houston in 2013.

Supernaw takes the depth chart spot of rookie Demetrius Harris, whom the Chiefs placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. Harris suffered a broken foot before Sunday’s win at Buffalo.

The Chiefs have other injury issues at tight end too, with veteran Anthony Fasano sustaining a knee bruise Sunday and second-year pro Travis Kelce dealing with injured ribs. Perhaps with this in mind, the Chiefs signed another tight end, Adam Schlitz, to their practice squad on Tuesday.

In other roster moves Tuesday, the Chiefs promoted tailback Charcandrick West from their practice squad and placed tailback Cyrus Gray on injured reserve with a torn ACL suffered Sunday. The 23-year-old West signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in May and rushed for 31 yards on six carries in the preseason.
