Bills sign Bacarri Rambo, place Leodis McKelvin on injured reserve

Rambo the movie character got four chances at thrilling us at multiplexes, now Rambo the football player is getting his second chance in the NFL.

That’s safety Bacarri Rambo and his second chance will come in Buffalo. The Bills announced Monday that they have signed the 2013 Redskins sixth-round pick to their active roster. He’ll take the place of cornerback Leodis McKelvin, who was placed on injured reserve with a broken ankle that ends his 2014 season.

Rambo played in 11 games and made three starts with Washington as a rookie, compiling 43 tackles and a sack. He made the team coming out of the summer this year, but got released after two games as the team decided to move away from one of the final draft picks of the previous regime.

Rambo will help fill in at safety behind Aaron Williams and Da’Norris Searcy as Corey Graham moves to cornerback full time to cover for the absence of McKelvin.
