Former NFL cornerback Fred Smoot, a loquacious player who has been trying to launch a media career, will now have that media career derailed. Along with, potentially, his freedom.
Via CBS DC, Smoot was arrested Sunday for domestic assault.
A nine-year veteran who played for Washington, Minnesota (he was the honorary captain of the S.S. Love Boat), and Washington again, Smoot has contributed at CSN Washington, WTTG-FOX 5, CBS Sports Network, and WJFK-FM.
WJFK has suspended Smoot indefinitely. It’s safe to say every other media company with which he has been working will do the same.
