The Vikings will be without their leading rusher for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets.

The club has ruled out tailback Jerick McKinnon with a lower back injury, per the club’s injury report. McKinnon did not practice all week with the ailment, which also kept him out of last Sunday’s win vs. Carolina.

A third-round pick from Georgia Southern, McKinnon paces the Vikings in rushing yards (538) and carries (113). Matt Asiata, Joe Banyard and Ben Tate are other options in the Vikings’ backfield.

In other Vikings injury news, rookie outside linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) is doubtful for Sunday. Like McKinnon, he didn’t participate in any workouts this week.

The Vikings’ No. 1 pick, Barr has started all 12 games this season, notching 70 tackles and four sacks.

At 5-7, the Vikings are on the fringes of playoff contention in the NFC. However, they are favored against the 2-10 Jets in Minneapolis.
