Two Bears fans stabbed outside Soldier Field

Last night’s game between the Cowboys and Bears generated a troubling footnote.  After the contest ended, a Cowboys fan stabbed a pair of Bears fans outside Soldier Field.

According to the Chicago Tribune, a 22-year-old Bears fan was stabbed nine times in the back, with an unknown object.  Another 21-year-old Bears fan was stabbed near his upper right shoulder.

It began when a group started yelling “Bears suck” at the two victims, who responded with “Cowboys suck.”  Then someone from the pro-Cowboys group threw beer at someone and then the pro-Cowboys group jumped on the Bears fans.

No arrests have been made, yet.

  1. Kids these days get it through your greasy heads, Cutler nor Romo care about your existence. Fighting and stabbing someone over a game ridiculous.

  2. NFL has a real problem on their hands…”fans” want to fight/stab/murder other fans over a game. And the NFL and its organizations don’t even you know you exist, just your money does.

If it was a “real” problem don’t you think it would happen more than like once every 2 years? Also more than 800 people have been shot in Chicago since August, the fact only a knife was used here sounds like a win.

  4. Bears fans stabbing eachother. They should have aimed for their eyes so they don’t have to tune into this pitiful team any longer.

You can stab a fan in San Fran, or slide down a railing from the 2nd deck and land on a group of people in Buffalo, or attempt to commit suicide at a Raiders game, or stalk a QB and follow him home in Houston…ALL OF THIS WILL BE FORGOTTEN IN 2 YEARS

But throw snowballs at Santa in Philly in 1968 and it lives in forever.

  5. No way anyone is ever shot in Chicago. They have very restrictive gun laws ans everyone knows that makes crime go away. It has absolutely nothing to do with the perps. Only the guns.

  6. The NFL should immediately stop alcohol sales at all stadiums! Put breathalyzers at every gate and turn away anyone with a level above legal limit.
If they would just let them smoke dope then none of this unruly behavior would occur. J/k😉😜

  7. I see these guys have their priorities in order.. Its just a freaking game for entertainment!! Stuff like this is one of the many reasons people choose to watch games at home now. Quit ruining the experience for everyone else and grow up!

  8. Like was said above…this stuff is the reason I go to much much less live games and rarely take my kids.

I cheer…I like to cheer. I never put down, don’t celebrate injuries and use basic “here we go defense” and “let’s go (insert team name)” and in just the last year I had one parent that had been aggressively yelling at 12 year old girls all game attempt to come after me post game simply because I was clapping for our team after a win…I had one parent come after me and try to throw coffee because she thought I was cheering for just my kid when I was yelling “let’s go white!”, you know, because the jersey were white…

People just don’t live in reality anymore. Everyone wants to show how offended they can get. It’s a shame really….oh yeah, I also don’t go because of $10 beers and poor sightlines also…but I’m just sayin…

Not sure that the Chicago crime records would apply, the Dallas fans appear to have been the assailants.

  10. “If it was a “real” problem don’t you think it would happen more than like once every 2 years? ”

What? Stabbings occur almost every week at 49ers games.

For the love of god. Throwing perfectly good beer at someone? Sheesh.

Beer/alcohol is usually a factor in these cases.

  12. Aside from the fact that I’m disgusted by the idiotic pursuits of moronic hooligans, I hope we can put this one on the side of the ledger that says we stop calling Dallas America’s team.

  13. That’s pretty tame for Chicago, Obama’s “hometown”.
Usually folks are shooting each other every night.

  14. Years ago, I found myself in a public bathroom at the Oakland Stadium during an Raider/Denver game. I was surrounded by about 5 highly intoxicated Raider dudes who told me to take off my Denver colors or die. I didn’t. I was prepared for the worst as one of them stumbled towards me with a lit cigg lighter.

Fortunately, a security guard entered and diffused the scene and I survived the day as did my Elway jersey. I love football but there is no better seat than my living room couch, with friends, big screen HDTV, Bose sound system, two dogs at my feet, beer and food in the kitchen, watching the Sunday NFL Ticket.

  15. Some how the cops will be blamed, right? Everybody will be asking “where were the cops?” when this happend. My guess is that they were not looking to end up on CNN and the other networks for taking out the criminal.

  16. Reading the comments from this post is staggering. So many of you don’t see this as a problem or think its funny. People are seriously getting hurt, losing their lives over a game, that they don’t even participate in, just cheering for their team for whatever reason. Everyone thinks that it won’t be them, the lack of perspective speaks for itself.

  17. And the Chicago cops have made no arrests…..crimes committed here but they have made no arrests? It makes you wonder, don’t it?

  18. Between the rising cost of tickets and concessions and the (admittedly slim) chance of violence, the NFL is starting to no longer become a family friendly event to attend in person. I can see a future time when stadiums only hold 35,000 fans and even more people stay home to watch the games instead. It isn’t soon, but 10-20 years from now, as TVs and technology gets even bigger and better, why go in person?

  19. I wouldn’t be surprised if the people involved are some of the same meatheads who post on here.

  20. The game has nothing to do with it. The alleged perps are simply amoral animals. That such a thing happened outside a stadium is merely coincidence. They would have done the same in an alley, bar room, backyard or church parking lot.

  21. The poor victims were stabbed by 49ers fan, had their ears bitten off and gang jumped by Raiders fans, had snowballs and batteries thrown at them by Philly fans, and then were injected with PEDs WITHOUT alcohol swabs by Seadull fans. No Jags fans were present, because well, they never show up.

  22. Funny…..I’ve gone to a ton of football games and not once thought….I should bring my knife!!! That dude clearly was expecting trouble or waiting to cause it.

  23. It’s fair to assume that the Cowboys fans were residents of the city of Chicago. I can only imagine some of the hateful things you Bears fans would say about the city of Detroit if this had happened there. Good thing we have a little more class than you do.

  24. Makes no sense to discuss either fan base. This has now happened at about 6 different NFL/MLB stadiums in the past 2 years.

This is a problem with society and alcohol at sporting events and idol worshiping. I just can’t believe it happened outside the state of California

  25. I am a Cow hater, but I guarantee these were bandwagon Cow fans. You cannot find a more welcoming hospitable crowd than in Dallas unless Kansas City edges them out.

  27. Time to stop selling beer at Games.
If fans act like 10 yr olds, they need to be treated like 10 yr olds…
You really want to hurt someone, make them eat a Stadium Dog….

  28. Read the article. The group of visiting Cowboys fans started yelling at two Bears fans, who answered back. Then the Cowboys fans threw beers at them. Then they jumped them, stabbing them multiple times.

This wasn’t a spontaneous post-game fight between opposing fans. The Cowboys fans deliberately picked a fight with two Bears fans, jumped them, and tried to stab them to death. It was monsters roaming the parking lot looking for trouble and it could happen anywhere–football game, fairgrounds, mall. Scary.

  29. @ savagenation2011
So when these violent acts occur at other stadiums around America, I suppose you call out the politicians from those areas as well? Didn’t think so……

babygaga likes to tell tall tales. About 5? You can’t believe anyone that brags about owning a Bose sound system.

  32. It’s sad “reality check” never does any fact-checking. The forensic report showed the accuser didn’t have sex with anyone during the time she was with Roethlisberger. And multiple witnesses disputed the “guard outside the door” bit–which conflicted with the accuser’s own statement. This is a serious story about real violence at a game. Pity we can’t stay on point and leave the “your team sucks” stuff out of it.

  33. Now it turns out that the victim is saying he was attacked by fellow Bears fans for saying that he wished he was a Packers fan. NO COWBOYS FANS WERE INVOLVED! But I’ll bet that won’t stop the jerk-knee haters from holding this against the Cowboys fans/team, and there will be no apologies forthcoming from them either!
