The Ravens have dealt with injuries at cornerback all season long and they added two more to the list in last Sunday’s victory over the Dolphins.
Anthony Levine suffered a concussion that leaves his status for Week 15 in doubt and Danny Gorrer was lost for the rest of the season after tearing his ACL. The Ravens addressed the lack of healthy bodies at the position on Tuesday by signing veteran corner Antoine Cason.
Cason was waived by the Panthers last week after starting the first 11 games of the season for the team. Cason struggled for much of that time, as did most members of the Panthers defense, and finished his stint in Carolina with 58 tackles, two interceptions and four forced fumbles.
Cason played in every game from 2008-2013 and even with the struggles so far this season he gives the Ravens an experienced option to plug into their secondary as they try to finish out the season with a good enough record to return to the playoffs after sitting out the postseason last year.
