Saints coach Sean Payton has heard the talk that this might be his last year in New Orleans. And he says that talk is incorrect.

Asked at his press conference today about the possibility that he might step down following this season, Payton said, “Absolutely no way.”

Payton said he is aware that there’s been speculation that he wants to leave New Orleans, but Payton added, “It’s silly. It won’t happen.”

Only two years ago, Payton signed a contract that pays him $8 million a year, and he’s believed to be the highest-paid coach in the sport of football. It seems awfully unlikely that he would walk away from that.
