Panthers tight end Brandon Williams was the only player ejected from last Sunday’s victory over the Saints after a melee broke out between the two teams, but he wasn’t the only player fined by the league for his actions.

PFT has confirmed with the league that Williams and Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton were each fined $8,268 for their actions. Lofton shoved Panthers quarterback Cam Newton while Newton was having words with Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan after Newton did his standard Superman-flavored touchdown celebration of a two-yard plunge into the end zone. Lofton said he didn’t regret what he did because he felt Newton was taunting his teammate.

“I don’t take kindly to that,” Lofton said, via ESPN.com. “I saw it as straight disrespectful. ... I’d do it 100 times out of 100.”

Williams was ejected for throwing a punch during the scrap. Newton was not fined.
