Jim Caldwell: “Not out of the question” that Suh will miss Sunday’s game

Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has never missed a game for health reasons since joining the Lions, but the team isn’t ruling out the possibility that streak comes to an end when they face the Vikings this Sunday.

While the Lions said on Friday morning that Suh would return to practice after missing Thursday’s work with an illness, Suh didn’t wind up working during the portion of practice open to the media. Coach Jim Caldwell said that Suh’s absence from the field extending through Sunday’s game remains a possibility heading into the weekend.

“I don’t have an indication that’ll happen, but it’s not out of the question,” Caldwell said, via the Detroit Free Press.

Suh has missed two games because of a suspension since joining the Lions, but he has otherwise played in every game since the team made him the second overall pick of the 2010 draft. The Lions may be forced to play without Suh on their defensive line in 2015 if he leaves as a free agent, although that’s a possibility they’d surely prefer not to start preparing for with their 2014 fate still hanging in the balance.

  1. Evan Dietrich Smith! Claim to fame: he was the guy Suh stomped after he repeatedly untied Suhs shoe’s during the game. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Evan Dietrich Smith in this article guys. One day Evan will be at the grocery store and somebody will say “hey you look familiar” Evan will say “I played football I’m Evan Dietrich Smith” other guy will look clueless then evan will say “I’m the guy Suh stomped on Thanksgiving” other guy “oh yaaaa I remember that”

  2. And next to getting stomped for his busch league tactics on thanksgiving his superbowl ring is the second best thing to ever happen to him. Fade away Evan, fade away

  3. There are division 3 college teams that could beat the Vikings, Lions will do fine without Suh this weekend.

  4. “He will retire a Dolphin phinsup”

Good let him wreck your salary cap for years to come. Whoever gets Suh next season will be so grossly overpaying for him its going to cause serious cap damage.

In other words … “we can beat the crappy Vikings without him.”

    ……………
Packer trolls once again invade with nonsense. Lions fans know this is a divisional game and don’t carry the arrogance that Packer fans do. Good luck to the Lions….but not too much luck!
