Titans add trick-shot artist Alex Tanney to practice squad

Since the Titans made an entire season disappear, maybe it’s only right they signed a guy who can do tricks.

To fill in for a run of injured quarterbacks, the Titans signed quarterback Alex Tanney to their practice squad, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

He’s best known for his trick-shot videos, but has kicked around enough to be able to help them get through two more weeks of practices. He’s been with the Chiefs, Cowboys, Browns and Buccaneers.

The Titans had to sign Jordan Palmer yesterday to back up Charlie Whitehurst, after Jake Locker joined Zach Mettenberger on injured reserve.

The Titans also placed tight end Brett Brackett on injured reserve and signed tight end Matthew Mulligan.

  1. Cool Trick Shot Video. If this guy gets a real chance to play in an NFL game, it will be interesting to watch.

He’s also a very local product. A kid who played for small Illinois schools. I’m rooting for him to get an opportunity…..even if it is for the horrid Titans and their porous offensive line.

  2. Well, he will certainly come in handy during the pregame if they need someone to throw a football through a small flaming hoop Jaxson de Ville is holding as he bungie jumps into the stadium this Thursday.

  3. Great move. This will either be highly entertaining or Tennessee secures one of the top two picks. Can’t lose either way. Unless you have to actually watch this game.

  4. When your first two QBs go down, you don’t get much choice, particularly late in the season. How many teams have a third string or fourth string QB that you guys would razz?

  5. I think the kid has some potential and hope he gets a chance on day but some of u need to read this article again or just the headline, he was signed to the practice squad not the roster so he won’t be on the field unless the make the change between now and Sunday

  6. I’m sure there are plenty of guys that could do a video like that. How many misses were involved in each shot? So far I’ve seen this QB version, the kickaliscious one and a long-snapper trick video. I’m sure there are others.

  7. Gotta give some credit to the kid who turned a video with numerous takes to get the right shot into a nice little backup QB gig in the NFL until he has to get a real job. Unfortunately, when a play goes wrong he can’t just yell cut and do it over again with no consequences. Still, it was a really cool video.

I’d love to see Kickolicious in the league as well.

  8. Hmmm….and this will help us how??? I am beyond disapointed in the entire Titans organization this year….epic fail this year…epic.
I would of rather them brought freaking Tebow in than this guy!
