The Jaguars had one of the NFL’s worst offenses this year, and now they’re making a change.
Offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch has been fired, the team announced.
The move comes as no surprise, as Fisch did little to build the offense in the two years since he was hired. The 38-year-old Fisch had a fairly thin resume when he was hired, and it seems likely that Jaguars coach Gus Bradley will look for someone more experienced to replace him. The name of recently fired Bears coach Marc Trestman has already surfaced as a potential candidate to become the next offensive coordinator in Jacksonville.
Whoever the new coordinator in Jacksonville is, he’ll need to build an offense around young quarterback Blake Bortles and get instant results. Because if the Jaguars don’t get better in 2015, a year from now it will be the whole coaching staff getting fired.
