Reed thinks Suh should have been suspended multiple games

Reed

Former NFL safety Ed Reed and current Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh have something in common; each has had a suspension imposed by the league and overturned by hearing officer Ted Cottrell.

But Reed and Suh have one major difference. Reed thinks Suh should have been suspended multiple games for stepping on the leg of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“When you have stuff like this in the game, that shouldn’t be tolerated,” Reed said on the newest edition of Inside the NFL, which debuts tonight. “He probably should have [been suspended more than one game] because of the things that he’s been doing up to this point – kicking guys and really disrespecting the game of football and the brotherhood that we have. Some things you just don’t do.”

But the suspension wasn’t based on his history, and Cottrell has decided that Suh’s subtly intentional step on Rodgers’ leg doesn’t merit a suspension. Which actually helps the Packers, because if the Lions can beat the Cowboys on Sunday, Green Bay will get the winner of the Cardinals-Panthers game in the divisional round, and not the 12-4 Cowboys, who are also 8-0 on the road this season.
