Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins is Pro Bowl-bound.
Atkins has been added to the NFL’s all-star roster, the Bengals announced Friday morning.
According to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Atkins will take the place of Lions’ Ndamukong Suh, who withdrew with an injury.
The 26-year-old Atkins started all 16 games for Cincinnati in 2014, notching 34 tackles and three sacks, numbers off his other Pro Bowl seasons of 2011 (47 tackles, 7.5 sacks) and 2012 (53 tackles, 12.5 sacks). However, Atkins is a little more than a year removed from an ACL tear.
The Pro Bowl will be held on January 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
