Earl Thomas not worried about dislocated shoulder

AP

Even though half the Seahawks’ Legion of Boom secondary spent part of the day in an MRI tube, it doesn’t appear there’s much to worry about with either of them.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, safety Earl Thomas has a dislocated shoulder, but isn’t in doubt for the Super Bowl, with a source saying: “don’t even waste any time on the story.”

OK, then.

With Richard Sherman apparently willing to play one-armed if necessary, the Seahawks have eliminated any injury related questions.

At least until it’s time to tackle Rob Gronkowski or LeGarrette Blount.

  1. They both will be out there playing and I hope they both try to tackle Blount , Gray and or Gronk…….he can say what he wants and may play but you dont heal from a dislocated shoulder in 12 days…….

  2. Earl Thomas – Smallest and feistiest Safety in the game…the guy played his heart out yesterday! Did you see the hit he put on Starks on the sideline after injury his shoulder?

    Go HAWKS!!

  3. Should be a great game. Here is to hoping there is not a lot of false bravado in the comments from fans of either team.

As a Patriots fan who does not like Richard Sherman’s antics, he showed he was a true warrior playing thru what was obviously serious pain.

Two best teams in the NFL . Will be a great two weeks here in New England and I am sure Seattle.

Blount is going to destroy the Hawks

He’s not facing the soft Colts. None of that cutback stuff he has done against Indianapolis will work against Seattle. Delusional.

  5. At least Thomas played with the injury in an unassuming fashion rather than playing the drama queen like Sherman did.

  6. Remember last year when the Broncos had a far better offense going into the Superbowl against a team with one year less experience? Yeah, that didn’t work out too well. The Patriots can video tape all the signals and deflate all the balls they want but they don’t stand a chance. Defense always beats offense.

Amen ampats! Should be a great Super Bowl. Nice to see the two best teams and the two best coaches going at it.

  8. it takes about 12 weeks to fully recover from a dislocated shoulder ..he can play, as long as he doesn’t plan on doing any tackling

  9. Great match up, pitting #1 seeds from both conferences. As I have stated, very similarly constructed teams outside of QB and coach trickeration.

Injuries will play a part, like in every game, no more, no less, as long as Brady nor Wilson goo down. Injuries to Sherman and Thomas can be masked. The key to stopping a big back is stopping him in the backfield.

Remember this about the Super Bowl,w/the pregame circus & the extended halftime, it’s like 2 games being played. You can’t win it in the 1st half, but you can lose it.

  10. What am pats says. A great pats team vs a fire hot hawks Team. When he got injured i knew hed be back. Et would rather die than not be out there giving! 100%. Same with sherm. This Should be a great bowl and I’m pumped for it. Go hawks!!

  11. Thomas was flying around hitting people with that shoulder yesterday, doing it again in two weeks shouldn’t be a problem.

Sherman will probably play with a JJ Watt / Iron Mike Sharpe arm brace.

  12. I respect the toughness and gained respect I certainly didn’t have for Sherman (already loved Thomas) due to yesterdays events….

That said….if I was Belichick I’d do whatever needed to get Blount, Gray or Gronk a running start dead into both of them and test those injuries…and I’d do it alot….

Here ya go Earl, tackle this huge RB about 11 times….now cover Gronk over the middle with one arm….good luck…

Once we get past all the non sense the media wants us to care about the matchups in this game are gonna be some real fun.

  13. they were hurt in the second half, a second half in which the packers scored 6 points, had 4 of 6 drives end with 3-and-outs, and never reached the red zone.

one-armed LOB is still better than most NFL secondaries. Including NE.

Being a Bills fan I can easily say i’m going for Seattle.

After a 15-year drought, this must be something you’re getting used to.

  15. If these two D backs are hurting in 13 days the Patriots should (will) aim their heavy hitters right at them and force them to make plays.

With these injuries I don’t see how these hurting Seattle backs can tackle. Even their coverage will be compromised.

You can be brave, tuff or whatever, if you are hurt you can’t play at your highest level. We will know more about their injuries by watching who is getting the majority of snaps in practice.

  16. New England has a pretty good defense too. They have only given up 10 points in their past 85 minutes of football, and against two good QBs at that.

he played during the game with the injury. he’ll be fine. it’s also not nearly that serious to recover from, particularly if it has happened before.

The last 7 games they have givien up one second half TD…THERE ON A ROLL !!!! KEEP IT GOING

  19. I would expect to see Cam Chancellor on Gronkowski. Maybe Cam will make a quick statement like he did on Thomas in last years super bowl. As for Blunt, he’s going to have to get through the line backers before he sees Earl Thomas. Take your pick, Wagner, Wright, or Irvin.

yeah, right.. Gronk has 3″ & 30+lbs on Chancellor.. he’ll swat that dude like a little gnat

  21. T.O. was injured and yet he almost singlehandedly carried his team to a good game with the Pats in the 2004 Super Bowl.

Pats would do well to treat Thomas like he will be 100% healthy.

Did you fall and hit your head or something? Sherman never left the game. And was not targeted.

    With one arm.

  23. The Pats would be foolish if they don’t go right at the injured players. Nothing cheap about it. If they are too hurt to play 100%, they shouldn’t be on the field. Let’s not make excuses before the game is played.

  24. Much smaller and weaker players have finished Glass Gronks season,Vernon Davis also has 30 lbs on Kam, and ET tackled Starks and Lacey after injury and they are both better backs than Blounte, there is a reason teams don’t keep Blounte, that reason will be on display again Feb 1!!
