In the wake of his Monday morning arrest on allegations of assault and soliciting a prostitute, NFL Network analyst Warren Sapp has been “suspended indefinitely” from the network, a spokesperson for the league-run television channel told PFT this afternoon.

Sapp’s suspension is without pay “pending the outcome of ongoing police investigation,” NFL Network spokesperson Alex Riethmiller said Monday.

Multiple media outlets have reported the charges against Sapp, with TMZ first breaking the news. (Also, as TMZ pointed out, Sapp’s NFL Media biography has been removed.)

A standout defensive tackle from 1995 through 2007, the 42-year-old Sapp earned acclaim as one of the top defensive linemen of his generation. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

Sapp has worked for NFL Network since 2008.
