Blount credits “100% honest” Belichick for Patriots’ success

AP

Among NFL fans outside New England, Patriots coach Bill Belichick has a reputation as a duplicitous schemer. But one Patriots player says Belichick is the most honest coach he’s played for.

Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount said on NFL Network that the reason he and his teammates succeed under Belichick is that Belichick is always completely forthright with them.

“I want to say the biggest part that sets us apart is the coaches,” Blount said, via Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com. “Bill is a straight shooter. He’s 100 percent honest. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything, he doesn’t hide anything from you. We know he expects greatness from us . . . and I feel like that’s what sets him apart from other coaches.”

Blount didn’t say which “other coaches” he meant, but he’s played for Jeff Fisher in Tennessee, Raheem Morris and Greg Schiano in Tampa Bay and Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh, as well as Chip Kelly at Oregon. In all of those stops, there have been indications that he didn’t see eye to eye with the coaches. In New England, Belichick and Blount have had no problems working together.

  1. I think it’s pretty clear that he did not think Tomlin was straight with him in Pittsburgh.

And why would they have been – you definitely do not need a backup running back when you can just give 100% of the playing time to a young guy who is bulletproof and will never get injured.

  2. Ok, thats why they let him go to Pittsburgh last year then? Pitt shouldve just suspended him, not cut him – DUH.

  3. As much as he’s hated outside the locker room and outside the NFL, any free agent or incoming rookie player is dying to play for Belichick. Every player on the roster is treated equally as important and players improve under Belichick’s coaching over the course of the season. Seen it time and time again.

Free agent players know what it’s about in New England and know what BB is about, he will put them in the best position to contend, and win, ask Revis.

  4. Every fanbase talk smack about Belichick but if your team got Belichick as a new head coach.. oh lord you would have a parade.. When he left my Jets for the team up north I was pissed and I still hate him, not because I don’t like him. Because he is so freaking good

  5. What a joke.
Half of the Pats fans say: “we didn’t do it”.
The other half say: “but everybody does it”.
Can’t have it both way folks.

But in all honesty I can see where you would think that, being as your QB likes it both ways…

  6. Coming from a guy that apparently had a wink and a nod deal with the Pats that if he got himself cut from Pittsburgh he was in at New England…

  7. Poor little Pats haters. Hope you enjoy the breakfast that’s been served up to you.

Belichick is the best coach in football history and every one of you would be doing cartwheels if he ever left the Pats and your team got him.

  8. Exactly Marvsleezy…. they let him go because he wanted (and got from Pitt) more than they were willing to pay him.
When the Steelers cut him and he cleared waivers they happily took him back at a price they were willing and clear about paying him. Where’s the conflict?
I think he’s referring to how he’ll be used and what to expect, etc.

  9. Suspending players you’re not going to keep, that don’t want to play for you, is just wasting the time of both parties.

  10. Everyone knows what Head Coach he meant. The same person that was HC when he walked off the field. He made a mistake walking off but the Steelers made a bigger mistake by cutting him. Funny how players seem to fall in line when they come to New England to play for Belichick.

    ______________

Wink and a nod from Blount and the rest of the NFL to let him pass through waivers. The Hoodie is spooky good.

  12. I agree. Steelers should have suspended him for one game. But then you hear that he was a negative influence on bell. Also lots of teammates thought he was a cancer in the locker room. So who do yourself believe. He is a helluva running back

  13. Good morning Patriots haters. Isn’t it a great day today? The sun is just a little brighter, the sky is just a little bluer when you a fan are the champs and the NFL’s greatest dynasty.

Too bad you and the pile of crap you call your team will never know what that’s like.

    🙂

  14. Tomlin and Haley wasted him in Pitt. they told him he would be the #2 RB and see some touches and he was good when he got those touches. No way he should have been splitting carries with Bell, but he should have probably seen 20-25% carries.

The dumb thing by Tomlin is he is taking an incredibly talented kid in Bell and running him into the ground. Bell was overworked in college at MSU and now being way overworked now…unless he turns out to be that rare freak (like AP or Lynch) the shelf life for overworked RBs is very short

He had to clear waivers first. He couldn’t control his destination. No one picked him up. He signed as a free agent. So your comment is misleading.

  16. That Bill doesn’t feed them bullshiate is a common refrain among players who have played for Belichick.
That he puffs up every half way decent player up like they’re Canton bound is is a common experience among players who have played against Belichick.

  17. Blount is absolutely right. I’m glad he left that joke of a team that has never – nor will ever – win a championship without PED cheating or paying off the refs.

That’s not even plausible. How could he have known someone else wouldn’t claim him on waivers?

  19. my steelers cut him cause he walked off during a game NOT Because he was a liar…..I’m sure that Sith Lord BB had it all planned from the start that he would get cut from the steelers so that the Pats could pick him up……(sarcasm)….I’m happy for him and wish him well and I hope Tomlin is taking notes…..keep hating on the good teams…we welcome it cause we know what it really means:)

  20. People are just upset that players seem to gain football powers just by putting on a Patriots jersey. I bet Peyton Manning is down in his basement trying one on right now.

  21. BB is just the best.

Everyone else is playing checkers while he plays chess.

Tom Coughlin is second to him.

  22. KWJSB, your “wink” theory shows just how little you know about football. Blount had to clear waivers before Pats could sign him. Since Pats had best record in NFL, they had last shot at him. So RB needy teams at the time included Indy, Clev, NYG, AZ, Denver (they didn’t know what they had in Anderson at that point)…..I’m sure the other teams knew NE would prob end up with Blount but no one care or viewed him to be that good to claim him off waivers….so again, shame on the other RB needy teams. BB knew he could get Blount to be a team guy and play hard…another example of Belichick as GOAT

  23. global warming is a lie ..it’s all of those haters’ tears that are causing the oceans to rise

The Patriots really mess with their minds.

Good luck during your long off-season.

Edelman: 7th round (as a quarterback)
    Butler: UNDRAFTED
    Blount: Free-agent pick-up (mid-season)

There’s a reason Belichick trades DOWN in the draft.

  27. Translation by Blount “the coaches are up front here in New England unlike the coaches I interacted with in Pittsburgh”

  28. He spent about 30 days with Jeff Fisher in Tennessee as an undrafted rookie FA & they cut him. I hated that decision at the time as he looked like a really good find for the Titans in that preseason but maybe there’s a reason Jeff Fisher is gone & hasn’t done much in St Louis either?

  30. Please…

Belichek has so many draft bust picks that it’s not funny. And for all his “greatness” he needed a bad play call from Pete Carroll to get all these accolades. Please..

Spare me all this ball washing.

  31. Heath Evans has said the same thing. But haters keep focusing on the media narrative. Meanwhile their teams get out coached and outplayed. End of Story. #TheyHateUSCauseTheyAintUS

  32. Belichick is very honest…”Playing for me means playing for a ring.” Too many NFL players just play for paychecks. See Redskins/Jets/Oakland.
Many players view the Patriot way as too hard/too much work. And that’s why they will never play games in February.

  34. ““You didn’t build that”. Remember that Kraft….(snicker).”

Hmmm, not sure what you’re referring to.

What Kraft did build however was Gillette Stadium. With no public financing. The only stadium in the league built entirely with private money and not fleecing the taxpayers.

Kraft is the best owner in the league as well as having the best coach in the league. All you fans of franchises that are nervous about them moving because the taxpayers won’t cough up for a billionaire’s stadium wish you had an owner like Kraft that would just build his own.

  35. Quitter.

That’s all that needs said. Last season is officially over. You wanna keep talking about it, then we can talk about 6 rings.

  36. so ridiculous too listen to blounts opinion on belichek, I mean I know he spent a lot of time with the guy over the last couple of years and knows him personally but im going to go with the haters opinion who have never met belichek and know nothing about him, it just seems logical to ignore blount and go with the opinion of the message board trolls, they are way more informed, I mean blount could never know belichek like a guy with no job, spending his day in his underwear trolling patriots news sites while ignoring the news about his own favorite team

  37. If you don’t play a down for a team (let alone not dress for said team) then you never played for the team.

If Kurt Warner makes it into the hall, will it say Green Bay Packers on his plaque next to his bust? No!

  38. I imagine it went something like this:

Tomlin: LeGarrette, you will split time with Leveon here, and will be an important part of our team.

Belichick: LeGarrett, you will have an opportunity to compete for playing time here. The better you perform, the more playing time you’ll get.

  39. Although Blount got a Super Bowl ring I don’t see him making it to the 2015 final roster. It’s a loooooooong 5 months for players of Blounts character. One mis-step with the law & his ‘straight shooter’ coach will cut him.

  40. I think all 31 teams that are inferior to the Patriots should just fold. The Patriots are bored toying with them all. Enough is enough. Clearly they can’t hang with the World Champions and NFL’s greatest dynasty. Clearly they can’t compete with them, nor do they have a plan on how to do so.

It’s time to fold them and give 31 new teams a shot.

    Discuss.

  41. “This team was the best team in the AFC in the regular season; we won two games in the playoffs against two good football teams. Best team in the postseason. That’s what this team is, and I know that because I’ve been with them every day. I’m proud of this team.” — Bill Belichick, prior to SB 49

Watching him turn a stupid Deflategate press conference the haters hoped would be his resignation into a 300-style rally was epic coaching. Remember, every single team in the playoffs this year ended their season with a hideous meltdown — except the Patriots. Your hatred fueled them, keep it up.

  42. “Because he drafts busts in the upper rounds?”

Clueless. Belichick has drafted numerous pro bowlers.

What you and other geniuses ignore is that the Pats roster is usually so loaded that most draft picks don’t stand much chance of sticking around. Belichick has often take fliers on players that had been injured or if they didn’t work out so be it.

  43. Blount clearly didn’t want to play for a team that wasn’t even good enough to not get schooled by Tim Tebow in the playoffs once the cheating and paying off the refs stopped….

In 20 years as a Head Coach, Jeff Fisher coached teams have had only six seasons when his teams have been over .500.

IMO Fisher’s consistent mediocre to losing record as a HC deserves more criticism. I don’t know why the media does not refer to Fisher as Teflon Jeff.

    ———————————————————-

Aside from being to buddy buddy with leveon bell and getting caught with some weed, he has behaved in the NFL. I think he’s grown up from the guy that used to swing on everybody lol

  46. I don’t blame Blount. Clearly he was lied to by Tomlin and the Steelers. Remember they courted him as a free agent. He must have at least been expecting a time share.

They bring him in during his prime, and then let him sit on the sidelines while they give Bell the ball 33 times. (Which by the way is the dumbest thing you can do with a talented back in this league) They weren’t even giving him mop up duty, just letting Bell pad his stats.

The guy was trying to keep his career going, and didn’t want to waste away. He took the league minimum to go back to New England.

  47. Everyone knows what Blount means. He’s implying that Tomlin made him some promises about workload when Tomlin recruited him to Pittsburgh. Bell played great and the “promises” were not kept. This is nothing more than that. Players leave New England usually to get more money and not because there is ever a trust issue with Bill Belichick.

  48. Bill is like Bob Knight in that he will get the very best out of you if you are strong enough that you can take the criticism and if you compete every day.

Nothing is sugar-coated, no false promises made. It doesn’t matter where you were drafted, what your salary is, your reputation, what you did last week, last month, or last year. You must compete TODAY.

He’s like the teacher that was so tough that you hated at the time, but that (in looking back) you now realize that he/she got you to get stuff done. The teacher who tried to be your best friend was, on the other hand, pretty darn worthless, though you liked him/her at the time.

    ===============================
Blount is making close to the veteran minimum. It was a two year deal and he has no bad history in Foxboro. The bigger question is whether they ante up for Shane Vereen. Ridley should come back cheap since he’s damaged goods.

  50. I’m sure this story is a set-up to call Belichick ‘Belicheat’ but again EVERY team was videotaping because it was LEGAL and the Patriots never should have gotten fined for that. It’s too bad they had to take the hit for every other team in the league that continued to videotape despite the NFL’s memo. And again, EVERY team in the league plays fast and loose with football inflation/deflation and the NFL doesn’t care. Aaron Rodgers is on record saying he likes his footballs overinflated and the entire sports world yawns. Why is that not a story yet ‘DeflateGate’ is??

  51. Post-“spygate” Pats have had the best record in football, gone to another THREE Super Bowls, and 5 AFC Championship Games…are a Tyree catch and a Welker drop from winning all 3 Super Bowls and now have the youngest team ever to win a ring looking for more.

Haters must literally be scratching their eyes out of the faces. HAHAHA! It’s great to be so great!

Waivers wasn’t a problem since he made himself out to be a trouble maker in Pittsburgh along with his contract demands

  54. I am not particularly a Tomlin fan but what Blount states is wrong.
When Blount signed with the Steelers I am sure they had in mind
a role for him. During a season offenses and defenses evolve. This
results from many issues such as how certain players improve or
decline. Perhaps from the way the opposition plays a team. Maybe teams playing the Steelers decided that to win they must stop
Big Ben . This may have forced the Steelers to run more.
To me Coach Tomlin was brutally honest with Blount. By playing
Bell he told Blount …Bell is better. Coaches and front offices build a team in the offseason sometimes their Chrystal Ball is not 100%
    accurate.
Blount forgets he did not re-sign with the Patriots because they
offered far less than the Steelers. Maybe the Patriots knew his limitations. Perhaps they knew he seems not to be a player you want
    around your younger players.
Perhaps if he had walked off the field early and was busted on the way to a team flight the Patriots might have cut him.
There is a reason Blount keeps signing one year deals for veteran minimum .

  55. so much jealousy still? Haha. All you haters. Thankyou. The witchhunts and hatred you spew may have just given BB and TB motivation to beat you and outsmart your teams for 5 more years keep it up.

  56. Last season , Blount credited Belichick with being the only one to coach him properly about pad levels. Seems really basic but that’s why he had his career year

  57. I am not particularly a Tomlin fan but what Blount states is wrong.

You don’t know that. The only people that know what Blount was told are Blount and Tomlin. Blount was wrong to walk off the field. Bell is a way better back. Those are facts. But, maybe Blount was told he’s get a certain % of the snaps. Maybe he was told he’d get a reasonable chance to reach the incentive that was part of his contract. Six carries/gm doesn’t seem like much of a shot. Instead Tomlin decided to run Bell into an injury and was left with a 5’8″ change up back and a street FA for their playoff gm against their arch rivals. The Pats didn’t fail to resign Blount because he was any sort of problem or bad influence. They assign a price to certain players and positions and stick to it. The Steelers simply offered more, and the Pats thought they were fine w/Ridley and Vereen.

Funny how players seem to fall in line when they come to New England to play for Belichick.
    ================================

Hmmmm… Isn’t there a murder trial going on right now in New England for one of Belichick’s players.

  60. Who wouldn’t walk off the Steelers squad, that place is a dumpster fire on a downward spiral with an aging QB. Got him a ring, can’t fault him for that!

  61. Why is it so hard to believe that Bill Belichick would tell his players exactly what they are doing wrong. He’s trying to make them into champions. Why wouldn’t Blount go back to the team that tells it like it is, he knew he would be used there as they didn’t have much of a running game. If you don’t believe Belichick tells it like it is, ask Wes Welker why he left and turned into a third option in Denver.

  62. Translation: Mike Tomlin is a lying loser, which is pretty much 100% accurate.

Hope y’all are enjoying this wonderful Patriots championship and the endless dynasty.

  63. Without question the Patriots* are the greatest team in NFL history with an asterisk next to their name.

    Go Pats!

    * indicates there may be illegal deflating of footballs and video taping of opponents.

  64. PATRIOTS BEWARE – MORE NFL TROUBLE COMING

Rodger Goodell and Colts GM Grigson secretly met with Peyton and said; “Peyton, we royally screwed up with Frame Gate and cannot dethrone BB, TB & NE PATRIOTS. We know you cannot beat Tom without our help and if you come back we have Refs with yellow flags that will get you back to the SB just like in the 2006 AFC Champ Game. This way we can get the news media to drool all over you and sweep Frame Gate under the rug.”

Peyton said ” Yellow is my favorite color. Count me in.”

Another NFL record Peyton holds is most PI calls in his favor.

  65. The New England Patriots symbolically represent America.

    5. Hated for being right.

    6. The pettiness of trying to find some dirt on Tom Brady, which back fired.

    7. Making a huge comeback, when the game was in the Seahawks control

I can’t say enough about Blount, who quite possibility is misrepresented , Coach Belichick didn’t need Blount yet gave him a second chance.

The New England Patriots are America’s Team literally.

    Not judging only examining

You can make the same argument that they are one bonehead play call by Seattle from losing 3 Super Bowls.

  68. I LOVE IT!!!
All the haters of Brady and Belichick.

    Read it and weep!
6 Super Bowls – 4 SB rings -9 AFC Championships

Ain’t no asterisks in the record book, fellas!!!

    Kiss our behinds!!!

  69. Pats will be the defending Super Bowl Champions for the entire year, and then will most likely win Super Bowl 50 and be the champs for yet another year.

Somebody needs to place pillows under every bridge in America because I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of football fans taking a leap over the next 2 years. HAHA! The Patriots haven’t won anything since spygate indeed. HAHAHAHA!

  70. Belichick is honest to his players, and B.S.’s it to the media. The media turns around and sells you a bunch of their own B.S. about what a liar Belichick is. Gullible fans eat it up, and then turn around and insist that the media is lying about everything else.

    Sounds about right.

  71. Actually, BB baited Caroll into that play call and then forced the mistake by not calling a T/O. Obviously the SeaHawks were not ready. Almost any othet QB would be expected to make that throw or kill the play. Pats were better prepared and better coached.

  72. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Thanks LaGarret. My morning has been pretty stressful, and I needed a little comedic humor to cheer me up. The Pats and Belicheat 100% honest! Ha, ha ,ha ,ha, ha ha ha. Just cant keep from laughing. That was a good one!!!!

  73. Like Pats’ player always say, the Patriots is a blue-collar team. You work real hard and earn your due. There is no entitlement, even Brady knows that. Do Your Job. That’s as honest as it gets. BB will give you all the opportunity to succeed and win. If you have the potential he’ll help you turn it to ability. Look around the NFL. There are many players who are oozing with talent that had/is going wasted. Look at the Patriots’ misfits. They thrive and win under BB. Why? He’s honest with them.

  74. Well if Blount said it then I have to change my mind on Bill. Blount and Bill. Two top faces of the NFL.

Wow- Whoever said 10 years was probably being kind. NFL is done.

  75. Blount and Belicheat get along because both are low character guys.

Blount knocks out an opponent post game in college then when on the Steelers gets arrested for pot and walks off the field in the middle of the game. No team is going to claim Blount off waivers and pick up his 2 year contract. Even Patriots wouldn’t take that risk . So the Patriots sign Blount to a cheap contract after he clears waivers.

Belicheat benches Jonas Gray after 200 yard game because his phone dies and he is late to practice, yet when Revis is late he is only kicked out of practice. Blount after being cut by Steelers for pot smoking, walking out on team and poor attitude is immediately signed and starting for Patriots. Nice move Belicheat.

We are all Pats haters because we hate cheaters. Cheaters blame others and says everyone does it. Belicheat would cheat on his own mom in Chess. Don’t look away Belicheat might move a chess piece on you. Checkmate.

No one hates other dynasties like the Steelers. 49ers, Bulls, Celtics, Lakers and Spurs.

So congrats on your 4th super bowl Patriots*. Your legacy and reputation will always be tarnished.

  76. Test Blount now, assuming he is in the level 1 or 2 of the policy. Bet he would blow high score now. Naaa, that will not happen unless Godell lets his buds know in cheatNE1.

  77. Before it’s all over, Blount will be Blount and lose his cool… AGAIN. He can’t help it. Pair him with Richie Incognotsoneato and watch the show!

  78. Belichick 100% honest?

Every time he gets on a microphone in front of the press and refers to an opposing team as “A tough opponent”, especially when talking about teams in the AFC East, he’s obviously lying so as not to hurt their feelings.

If he was being 100% honest, he’s state the obvious, that the Patriots have no real competition in the NFL.

As Bill Parcells once stated “You are who your record says you are.” And the Patriot’s record says they are the closest thing to a Dynasty the NFL has seen in the last 20 years.

  79. Do you haters not understand?

Patriots fans know the facts better than you. The Patriots aren’t cheaters and there will NEVER EVER be an asterisks on anything they did. It’s called reality.

The fact that a small but vocal subset of jealous losers comes on this board and uses words like cheaters and asterisk is the GREATEST compliment to the Patriots organization amazing run of brilliance!

Some of you just cAnt fathom that something so remarkable could be accomplished the old fashioned way: intelligence, preparation, teamwork, resiliency, toughness.

Well you know what it was!!!! So keep disbelieving losers the facts don’t lie! Even of it ends tomorrow I’ll never forget the thousands of great memories and all the entertainment I have gained from watching the greatest coach qb tandem EVER on one of the great runs in NFL history!!!! Trust me it has been oh so sweat, and many of you will never ever know!

  80. THE REAL QUESTION IS HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR PATRIOT HATER TEARS?

I LOVE SIPPING THEM IN A FROSTED CHAMPAGNE GLASS WITH A NICE SLICE OF LEMON AND GARNISHED WITH SOME TASTY SEA SALT. SO YUMMY!

  81. As for the Steeler Fan who thinks their sorry team belongs in the same sentence as the World Champion Patriots, all you need to know is:

    55-34

Got waxed by your daddies in the AFC North at home in the playoffs

Got waxed by Tim Tebow in the playoffs

Your QB is an injury embellishing drama queen.

0 Super Bowl titles since your team doctor was indicted on 185 counts of intent to distribute HGH and illegal PEDs.

    Have a nice day 🙂

  82. You are only lying to yourselves. You hate the Patriots because they win alot. In the process of being the best they shattered your dreams and probably got your coach fired. I am sure you feel helpless and in despair. Its natural for you to lash out. By whining and crying about Patriots success and trying to diminish it thru lies. You only hurt yourself. The only thing tainted by the Pats domination is your girl parts. Grow up put on your big boy pants and accept it. The Patriots are not always better than your team. just most of the time.

  83. The World Champion Patriots are better than you. They are smarter than you. They are more successful than you. They do everything better than you.

    Don’t hate. Appreciate!

    🙂

  84. It’s a good thing Blount left the Steelers. They won’t sniff a Super Bowl for another ten years.

  85. This only further proves my point that Tomlin is a player’s coach who rode the coattails of his predecessor.

  86. Blount obviously wanted to play for a team that wins the right way.

No cheating with illegal PEDs or paying off refs like his old team, just winning with good old fashioned talent, heart and coaching. The way football should be.

  87. The only thing Belichick cares about is production. He doesn’t care if you’re a first rounder, high priced free agent, or late round/free agent rookie…… If you do your job better than anyone on the team you will play. You may not necessarily start every game or play a lot depending on the match up but you will play.

  88. Dear Jealou Fans of other teams,
I want to update you on your cheating accusations. – R.G.

    SUPER BOWL XLIX
#1 AFC Team *NE* beat the #1 NFC Team Seattle
*BRADY’S* #4 *OFFENSE* beat the Seahawks #1 DEFENSE
*BRADY *& *PATS* the *ONLY* Team in NFL History to win the Super Bowl when behind ten points or more in fourth quarter.
Super Bowl XLIX NFL Records – *BRADY* *37* *completions* – 4th quarter score winning drive *8-8* = *PERFECT*
Most first downs passing in SB game, *21*, *Tom* *Brady*

*Tom**Brady* 6 SB starting QB appearances 4 SB WINS**** 3 SB MVP***

    P.S. – Tom says “Love those * ” and “We’re NOT DONE YET* !”

**** and soon to be *****

  89. Sorry i can’t blame blount for quitting in pitt. he was promised so many incentives to go there that made his contract look like it was very rich. they did that to lure him away from the pat’s so sneakily they would have a backup . not a good way to do business. so by not playing hin they didn’t have to pay him.they were devious. i would have walked out too.

  90. Belichick has SIX superbowl rings — 4 with the Pats and 2 with the Giants.

There’s NOBODY in the NFL who can match his brain in figuring things out. About Pete Carroll’s defense, he said, “He’s basically using the same one used in Alabama in 1977.” He has a long memory of games and plays and can pull that out in a second.

And he takes crap from nobody. If you are late to a practice, you are locked out — Brady or not.

To the haters out there: How many rings do you have? No, I’m not talking about the many times you got married.

  91. All this success and they left 3 on the table. 2006, when they had no D and no receivers. 2 fluke losses to the Giants. They should easily have 7.

  92. All this success and they left 3 on the table. 2006, when they had no D and no receivers. 2 fluke losses to the Giants. They should easily have 7.

    —-
Make that 8 if Parcells didn’t bail on the team in the 90’s.

  93. Jerry Rice: cheater
    Joe Montana: cheater
    Bill Walsh: cheater
    Don Shula: cheater
    John Elway: cheater
    Mike Shanahan: cheater

All proven or re-proven in the last few weeks thanks to the deflategate trolls. Heck, I just finished watching an NFL flopping video that was just ten minutes of Steelers and Giants players falling on their heads with nobody touching them. Several involved Super Bowl-altering penalty flags. There’s sideline footage of Hines Ward laughing about it. So please, keep going after the Patriots, it’s like watching someone swing and somehow hit themselves in the face.

  94. all the pats players love him. when he left it was for more money,no bad blood between him and the coach.he even said nice things about his first stint in foxboro. at least he got a ring now, if he leaves for more money god bless him. a running back has a short life in the nfl. if he stays, cool,if he goes, i hope he finds success. he was never a problem in new england. also he always gave a good effort on game day, he was fun to watch.

You can make the same argument that they are one bonehead play call by Seattle from losing 3 Super Bowls.
    ===============================
….. that bonehead play call was made possible by a catch that will never happen again. The coaching staff was probably so stunned that he actually caught it that they could not get their thoughts strait.
Gotta give Eli and the Giants credit – they knew what to do after their miracle catch was made.

  96. Pats 28 Seahawks 24

Pats NFL champion (that’s why they play the game folks)

for the 4th time in 14 years.

    Pats NFL champions 2014 season.

    True yesterday

    True today

    True tomorrow

    True forever

Learn to live with it haters – it ain’t going away

    heh heh

  97. Good luck to Blount, and congratulations to Belicheck on another Super Bowl win. Blount should also thank Tomlin and Rooney for letting him go free when he didn’t want to be a second string Steeler.

Good morning Patriots haters. Isn’t it a great day today? The sun is just a little brighter, the sky is just a little bluer when you a fan are the champs and the NFL’s greatest dynasty.

Too bad you and the pile of crap you call your team will never know what that’s like.

ah excuse me sir… but 1 super bowl win in the last decade doesn’t now a dynasty make

I’M SURE YOU THINK YOU HAVE A POINT IN THERE SOMEWHERE. I DIDN’T READ IT THOUGH I WAS TOO BUSY THINKING ABOUT THOSE SHINY LOMBARDI TROPHIES IN FOXBORO MA RIGHT NOW.

IN FACT WHAT YOU CALL THE SUN RISING IN THE MORNING ISN’T REALLY THE SUN… THAT IS ACTUALLY THE SHINE FROM ALL THOSE LOMBARDI TROPHIES THE PATRIOTS HAVE WON. ISN’T THAT GREAT?

    Wide right. Discuss…

    —–
IT’S TOO BAD THE BILLS AREN’T IN THE CFL WHERE THEY BELONG. THEY GIVE POINTS FOR MISSED FIELD GOALS.

THAT WAY WHEN SCOTT NORWOOD CHOKES HE WOULD STILL AT LEAST GET A POINT.

    OH WELL.

  101. In “the theater of the mind” people may see asterisks and silly names and phrases. For those intelligent enough to understand, the Patriots are SB Champions. Time for all to accept. All sore losers (with their excuses and unfounded conspiracies) should just move along.

More to life than this. Thanks for stopping by.

  102. ONE FOR THE THUMB for the Patriots next year! And that is another milestone… they will be the first team in NFL history to get one for the thumb.

No silly Steeler fan, I do not acknowledge rings won* by cheating or paying off the refs. I have honor and integrity so your rings are meaningless to me. Might as well not even have them.

Win one legit title and then we can begin to talk about where your team is at in the storied history of the NFL. It’s clear you still have a lot of catching up to do to the World Champion Patriots…

  103. All the Pat haters out there would be the first to deny it but the first to give their eye-tooth to have Belichick as their head couch because they know he could turn their team into something decent and to a Super Bowl within a couple years.

  104. To all Pats haters

    1) It seems as if about 99% of you, despite repeated requests from me and other Pats fans, refuse to say what team you root for, if indeed you DO root for any team. That of course is your right.

    2) The Strange Case of the Deflated Balls – The Pats won the 1st half 17-7, they won the 2nd half 28-0.

    3) Once again I want to extend my thanks to you for the excellent whine you have always brought to our little get-togethers over the past season, and we can only hope that the cheese which was our humble contribution to those occasions combined to produce the exquisite farts for you that they invariably did for us.

    4) Beginning of the 4th quarter – Seattle led 24-14, and they had already intercepted 2 of Brady’s passes and they were acknowledged to be the best defense in the league, so things didn’t look good for our Pats. I can’t even imagine (not that I care) how excited and happy you were at that.

    5) Whoops.

Yesterday Feb. 10 the Pats were NFL champions of the 2014 season. Today they still are. They will be tomorrow and the day after that and on an on and it ain’t gonna change, so you’d best get used to it.

  105. Patriots havent accomplished a single thing without cheating being part of thier game plans. From spygate to deflatgate to refs protecting Baby Brady…there hasnt been 1 game they have played in the last 10 yrs that isnt tainted.

  106. Now for a more intelligent look into Frame-Gate:

    * NFL admitted this was a STING OPERATION set up by colts GM Grigson, Goodel & the NFL SPY POLICE.
    * No OFFICIAL DOCUMENTED recording of ANY footballs by the Refs so that the evidence can be manipulated to frame the PATRIOTS.
    * You can sell your house and bet it all on the fact that the colts had their balls inflated to the max of 13.5 in a cold room and/or had the balls over inflated to compensate for air pressure drop due to cold weather.
    * ONLY one ball 2PSI under.
Who had that ball in their possession for at least twenty minutes? – the Colts.
    * No investigation by Wells of the colts and their tampering of evidence.
    * If you still find it hard to understand this refer back to Rule #1.) STING OPERATION set up by the Colts & Goodel….

Coming from a guy that apparently had a wink and a nod deal with the Pats that if he got himself cut from Pittsburgh he was in at New England…

    ——————————————–

Yes, and NE somehow also controls the waiver wire. I swear, do you diehard Pats haters even think about your conspiracies before you start believing them?

I’m sure they’ll have a “winking agreement” with whoever they end up drafting, too.

  108. I’m a diehard Patriots fan who thinks Blount is a unique running back who combines power and strength with a surprising amount of elusiveness. And I do believe he’s earnest in what he says about Belichick. Remember this is a guy that got publicly and classlessly thrown under the bus by an incoming coach in Tampa Bay (Schiano). Obviously, he thought he’d be sharing carries with Bell, and felt duped in Pgh, too.

But he’s also kind of a headcase. You don’t walk of the field until a game is over. Let’s not defend that action, okay, Pats fans? That’s bush league.

I’m glad we got him, but I think Gray would have served just as well.

Given his history, I don’t trust him. I hope Ridley or Gray or someone else can provide some proven power running next season so we don’t have to depend on Blount.

As much as I love to watch him run, I think he’s timebomb. Could be wrong. Hope I am.

  109. How about justice served on jealous Kurt warner when he marched down the isle to hand the Lombardi Trophy to Brady & the Patriots.
    PRICELESS!

Kraft threw it in Warner’s face saying “SB XLIX was reminiscent of the victory over the RAMS in SB XXXVI.

KRAFT to the NFL – Keep calling us cheaters and we’ll keep on collecting these Lombardis .

  110. “How about justice served on jealous Kurt warner when he marched down the isle to hand the Lombardi Trophy to Brady & the Patriots.
    PRICELESS!”

Nothing against Brady, who I was pulling for in the SB, but any Warner game was always more exciting than a Brady game. Warner was the better QB.
