Michael Robinson not sure what Marshawn Lynch is thinking

Former Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson is just like the rest of us now.

The NFL Media contributor and sometimes-confidante of Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch said he had no idea what his old friend is up to, or if retirement is a possibility.

I don’t know exactly what Marshawn is thinking,” Robinson said on the NFL Network. “I don’t think anyone knows exactly what he’s thinking. But what I do know is that the guys in that locker room mean the world to him. What I do know is that he’s the best running back in National Football League. And what I also know is he is under contract next year.”

That’s not necessarily a cause which leads to effect, as the mercurial Lynch confounds almost everyone who crosses his path.

Seahawks General Manager John Schneider is hoping to find out soon himself, so he can make plans if Lynch isn’t planning on being back.

But at this point, few know what’s going on inside that head.

“I cannot sit here 100 percent and say he will retire,” Robinson said. “We talk about him saying ‘I’m about that action.’ It’s not just about football. Go to that Oakland community go to the kids that he’s servicing. Talk to those kids that he’s servicing. Talk to those kids, . . . That’s what’s really important to him. This is a man of principle. He’s a very private guy. When he sets his mind to something, that’s what he believes in.”

And until Lynch has a press conference or something to announce it, it appears no one is quite sure what that will be.

  1. He’s thinking, “how can I draw as much attention to myself as possible” … same as always.

  2. I know exactly what he’s thinking. He’s thinking that if he just comes back and honors his contract, no one will pay attention to him. So he’s drawing attention to himself by pretending he doesn’t know if he’ll retire, and oh by the way, he’s going to pick up some extra cash to help him make up his mind.

  3. The Seattle GM should be approaching Lynch with cash in hand: Lynch has earned it, no matter that he has one year left….

  4. Lynch could also retire, go back to Cal to finish his degree, and volunteer to teach the Cal Bear running backs.

  5. Maybe he’s thinking his coach, Pete Carroll, who should have handed it off to him, to win the Super Bowl

NAW that’s crazy why would he think that.

  6. Maybe he thinks Seahawks fans are salary cap savvy and he can get 20 million per year? You know, because Seahawks fans seem t think the Seahawks can pay everyone on the team 20 million or more per year and still be under the cap. I am guessing Seattle’s cap must be at least one bazillion dollars.

  7. As a Seahawk fan I have to say stop all the drama Lynch. Seattle needs to know if you are going to come back or not so they can know where they stand and start building the D back up… They need to know if they can dip into free agency or not… We want you back and we love you and what you mean to this team is everything but show some respect back and let the team know where you stand… That way we can know where the team is going and how to move forward.

  8. Also if the Raiders want Lynch so bad then give up your first round draft pick for him…. Oh you dont think that much of him when it comes to putting your money where you mouth is huh? Face it Lynch is a Seahawk he was meant to be a Seahawk and he will retire a Seahawk. At his age trying to learn a new system and get in the swing of things while a team builds is just stupid his best chance is to stay with a team that is built and ready to still win championships for the time being.

  9. Lynch has the maturity of petulant 5 year old.

Let him retire. I doubt he’s been very smart with his money or would begin doing so just because he decided to stop playing.

He’ll be broke within a few years of being out of the league. If he was smart he’d play this year and put every penny away for 10 or 20 years form now when he might actually grow up.

  10. He may be walking from what he has been doing most of his life and just needs time to make sure he is making a decision that is right for him. No drama queen, attention hound action involved.

  11. Marshawn Lynch is a brand. beast mode, logo etc. Skittles. His endorsements will make him extremely wealthy. They will probably name a street after him. . He would be stupid to quit now

  12. “I don’t know exactly what Marshawn is thinking,”

    There, fixed it.

As one Seahawks fan to another, you need to pull your head outyerbutt.

Lynch is under contract. The team and Lynch are talking contract extension right now. So, stop with the BS “drama” talk. Lynch isn’t starting ANY drama. The media doesn’t know what he’s going to do. Schneider knows what’s up. And anyways, Lynch doesn’t have to talk to anyone right now. He’s under contract for another year and it’s not even the start of free agency yet. It’s not like there are any good RBs on the FA market anyway. And, no, we are going to mess with AP or Rice or any other RB. Lynch is the best in the league and he’ll be back to carry the rock for us again. The “drama” is a media affectation based on things Lynch said before superbowl 48.

The Seahawks have $25 million in cap space this year and $67 million next year. That’s plenty to sign, Wilson, Wagner, Lynch and Suh if they want to. Maybe you should read up on how the cap actually works?

  15. U only need to know one thing, after the SB win he refused to go to Obamahouse cause that dude is a Faker!
Hate on Marshawn from afar, but I will see Blount get his ass handed to him by one of his defensive teammates no matter what team they play for or when it occurs. How many of you even know the true definition of a RIDER? That’s what I thought!
    Beast Mode 24!!!!!!!

  16. He’s thinking the Seahawks are greater than the Patriots. Pats zero SB wins without cheating.
