The Browns released reserve offensive guard Paul McQuistan on Friday, per the NFL’s personnel notice.

The 31-year-old McQuistan appeared in 14 games in 2014, starting once. He played 121 snaps, per Pro Football Focus.

McQuistan has played in 97 career regular-season games, making 53 starts. He previously played with Oakland (2006-2009), Jacksonville (2009), Cleveland (2010) and Seattle (2011-2013).

Given his experience, it’s possible McQuistan could appeal to clubs looking for offensive line depth. He enters free agency a little less than a month ahead of the start of the new league year, which gives him a leg up as he tries to land elsewhere.
