Peyton Manning tells Broncos he’s ready to roll in 2015

AP

While it’s a step short of a declaration of their intentions, Peyton Manning has told the Broncos he’s ready to go again in 2015.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Manning told Broncos boss John Elway and team officials this week that he’s “physically and mentally prepared to play at a significant level in 2015.”

Manning has been working out and getting checked out in New Orleans in recent weeks, and is apparently confident that neither the neck issues nor the leg injuries which slowed him down the stretch will be an issue in the coming seasons.

Manning met with the Broncos braintrust Thursday, and some final decision on his status with the team is expected next week.

Of course, there are other hurdles to clear, such as compensation and structure thereof. He’ll be due $19 million in guaranteed salary if he’s on the roster on March 9. They could restructure the deal to create more cap room, since they have numerous free agents they’d like to keep.

  1. Denver’s best chance to win another title was during Peyton’s first year with the team , when they had a seven point lead against Baltimore at home , with the temperature in the single digits . . . and they managed to give up a 70 yard touchdown pass with less than a minute remaining. That was probably their best and last shot.

  2. Peyton provides the best chance for the Broncos to win & stay in playoff contention. NO DOUBT!! Even an injured Peyton Manning is better than 90% of the quarterbacks in the league.

  3. He has $19,000,000.00 worth of reasons not to retire. He better be careful he doesn’t get hit hard or he may be carted off the field in a body bag.
He stole Irsay’s money to hold a clipboard.
Now the bullets are flying so he better keep his head down and be more careful then ever while chasing money.

  4. It just had to absolutely kill him to watch Tom Brady raise that 4th Lombardi a couple of weeks ago. It has now become an obsession for him, and yet the outcome will never change. Peyton, I respect you, but Tom is the king in this ongoing debate. I hope you can make it through a full 16 game schedule next year, but Tom Brady will be playing in the seasons final game, and you will undoubtedly be watching. Your Super bowl 50 Champios, The New England Patriots.

  5. It’s natural for the Broncos to lean on Peyton Manning and have him do the majority of the heavy lifting on offense, he is one of the greatest QBs in the history of the game. BUT…the guy isn’t in his 20’s any more, and it no longer makes sense to ask him to single-handedly win games for them. Peyton needs some help, and while upgrading the offensive line certainly makes sense…it’s the run game that I think Denver should address with haste. Having a legitimate threat in the backfield would not only keep defenses honest, it would help Peyton to avoid throwing 50+ passes every single game. A RB who can wear down defenses would help, but a pass-catching back would be ideal for Manning. The guy’s approaching 40 years of age and his body doesn’t recover as quickly as it used to, so some changes to personell and playcalling would definitely help Peyton to avoid being worn out when the playoffs come around.

Exactly. The Broncos could have been the Super Bowl XLVII champions. They were 13-3 and would have beaten the NFC champions 49ers.

  7. 39TD.. 15INT.. 4700+YDS… AFC West Title.. One year removed from posting the best single season a quarterback has ever had statistically. A lock to win the 2015 AFC West Title. ya……… he should retire. I wonder what OAK, KC, & SD have to say.

  8. 14 1/2 Thats the over under for INT’s for Manning next year… I’ m taking the over. Thumbs up if you are over. Down if you are under.

  9. Needless to say Peyton Manning is the best QB Kubiak has worked with since John Elway. Mark ’em down for another AFC West title but anything more than that is hard to imagine.

  10. I’ll be embarrassed for the Broncos and their fans if they bring Peyton back for another year.
    That would just be wrong.
The new coach deserves better than this.

  11. Some people hate Manning so much on here it’s crazy haha! He WINS GAMES! He SHOULD play until he DOES NOT WIN GAMES.

    Pretty simple.

Even if Manning does a one-n-done in the play offs again, he still is going to go 12-4 and give them a better chance to win over Osweiler. Anybody that thumbs this down is a total dip stick with their head up their a..

  12. My Raiders will have another year to right the ship. And then, Manning is gone, SD is beatable, and KC has no QB.
Division will be respectably wide open by 2016.

  13. Still not getting through Foxborough.
But a good send off after a division title, 1 and done but can do the ceremony, etc. Waste of $96m
    & 8 points lol

Respectfully disagree. Peyton is no longer injured. He’s going to have another great year. 12-4 at worst. He’ll be back to finish his contract in 2016. I’d say by 2017, the rest of the AFC West teams will become semi-relevant again

    ____________
Week 8 he’s been throwing ducks since week 6…

Nice pic, kind of looks like he just realized his Depends are full…

  16. Lets see……..he’s like 2,000 yards from breaking Favre’s yardage record. He’s like 8 wins from the all time wins record for a QB and who thinks he doesn’t want these honors for his trophy case?? Common, did anyone really think he wasn’t coming back? But, I’d bet my bottom dollar this is his final season if he captures those individual records.

  18. Love it. 8-8 or 9-7 here we come.

Bad enough to not make the playoffs.
Good enough to not get a good draft pick.

  19. As the season rolls along, they will be blaming Peyton for deflating footballs. Those balls were floating pretty bad at the end of this year and its only gonna get worse as he goes deep into the next

  20. He’s good enough to win a lot of regular season games against inferior teams, he’s not good enough to win in the playoffs against good teams. That’s really all there is to it.

  21. 19 Million reasons to be ‘ready to roll.’ Ole Noodle Arm returneth for another didn’t quite make it season. What’s the quote about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

3 years ago maybe but his last game, it’s quite obvious he’s done, put mark sanchez in a leg cast and he’d still have better looking throws. I kind of felt bad for him.. and I’m a NE fan!

  23. Peyton decided to take the money, another year of endorsement contracts, and a chance to pump up his regular season stats – wow, who could have predicted it?? What a shocker!!!

  24. Kudos to Manning.

He has earned his plaudits and his career achievements are admirable.

BUT: He no longer is good enough to win a Super Bowl.

It’s one playoff win (One & Done) for Denver in 2015, at best.

  25. Wow, so many comments have me thinking peopl think this story is about Kyle Orton.
His stats last year with his name hidden would have fans of 25-28 teams hopeful they belonged to their guy.
The concern that he will be worn out by seasons end makes sense, but the statements that Denver would be better off without him are crazy.
Exactly who would be their other option next year? They aren’t drafting anyone who could start this season, should they get Hoyer or some other QB who wouldn’t put up numbers close to what he would?
In that division, with Manning, that team is a playoff team. A playoff team that could find itself one road win from the Super Bowl.

YES they need to be able to run more. YES they need to pass protect better. YES, Manning would be wise to take less than 19 million to help those things happen.
But Denver is not nearly in rebuild mode. When the playoffs are the expected result of the season, you don’t dump your quality QB for some mystery guy of lesser talent.

  26. He coming back for the money & to pad his regular season stats & get Favres records…. Then he can choke away in the post season as usual, but hey, at least he’ll have those records… Such a TEAM player…personally I love that he is messing up Denver’s cap space & chances… Well maybe not their cap space cause they really never care to follow that anyways ….you remember those 2 super bowls they won didn’t comply right??!!!

  27. Tom Brady .714 postseason record as a starter

    Tim Tebow: .500

    Peyton Manning: .458

  28. Peyton’s decision to come to the AFC West has no doubt paid dividends for the Broncos organization. Even with his eroding arm strength he’s likely to extend his dominance over AFC West yet another year. Say what you want about his lack of success at bringing Bronco nation another ring. Since he’s come to town the Broncos are perennial favorites to win their division. 2015 will be no different and some team will have to travel to Denver in the 2015 playoffs and face another Manning led Bronco team.

  29. uglydingo says:
“..Tom Brady has now won 4 Super Bowls. Welcome back Peyton for another season. Just kiss the rings…”

..and yet you Pats fans can’t understand why everyone else thinks you’re all such punks…

  30. I think John Elway lies awake at night trying to figure out a way to tell Manning to hit the bricks. If he couldn’t win with all the talent they brought in for him last season,he never will. I believe he wants to come back and break those records, but a Super Bowl? I don’t think so…he looked more like Archie Manning at the end of last season.

  31. I don’t blame him for wanting to come back. That’s a lot of money to not take. But the Bronco’s would be absolute fools to bring him back. They won’t win a championship with him. That window has closed. He’s had a great career and will go out as one of the best ever, but he’s done.

Let me guess – you’re a Steeler fan, right?

  33. Like him a lot and hate to say it but its time to be a back up or a qb coach. He just doesn’t have enough anymore.

  34. Man, up until last season I use to look forward to those mid season Brady vs Peyton showdowns every year mid season. Those use to be like mid season Super Bowls. Watching two of the best ever square off in epic games.. But it was clear during their game last season that Peyton just isn’t the same guy anymore. The difference in velocity on their throws was just glaring. At first I just chalked it up to a bad game by Manning, but then down the stretch it became clear that it was just what he was at this stage. An aging QB who has very little left in the way of ability. He can still manage a game better than most, but he doesn’t have enough left to carry a team for an entire season. He’ll need a great running game and defense (ala Elway) to have any shot whatsoever. I really hope it doesn’t end too ugly for him, but the writing is on the wall.

  35. I can already see how this is going to play out.

The Broncos are probably going to lose at least one star player, probably Julius Thomas, to free agency.
Then, when they go one-and-done in the playoffs again, all the Manning ball washers will say “well, it’s not Peyton’s fault. He didn’t have enough weapons on offense”.

Of course, what these rump swabs will conveniently neglect to mention is that the previous three seasons the Broncos surrounded Manning with Pro Bowl caliber weapons on both sides of the ball…and he still couldn’t get it done.

  36. Most folks look at the competition among the various QB’s and presume they don’t watch out for each other. In Peyton’s most recent MVP year, Brady was the first to say he should win the award. And Peyton said the same of Brady in earlier years.

Brady and Peyton needed each other to raise the standards of the game and themselves. They take pride in that. It’s not all that different from how Magic and Bird needed each other to raise the standards of the game.

We may never hear this in the news but I won’t be surprised if Brady is the first QB to call him to say, “Glad you’re back.” These two genuinely respect each other and the NFL is the better for it.

  37. “if Peyton was on the pats staff, he would have won 7 by now”

Yeah, right. The guy has been surrounded by Pro bowl caliber talent his entire career and yet has nine (9) playoff one-and-dones and a sub .500 postseason record.

Not only that, but the only season he did win the SB it was under absolute optimal conditions (facing a Patriots team that was decimated by injuries in the AFCC game, benefiting from several very shady calls in that game, and then getting to face a very weak, Rex Grossman led Bears team in the SB.

If Manning were 1/10 the QB his jock sniffers claim is is, he’d have a dozen rings by now.

  38. At least Peyton’s one championship is not TAINTED as are Brady’s – Peyton’s integrity will never be questioned, while he PATS and their fans can ONLY win via the CHEAT method!! No respect for the PatriotNation!

Sure, except for Polian lobbying to completely change the rules to suit Manning and the piped in artificial crowd noise and screwing with the thermostat in the AFC title game in 2006 to get them to the Super Bowl that year. Other than that he’s squeaky clean.

  40. With Peyton back under center in a Bronco uniform Denver will take their fifth straight AFC West crown, and after that it’s anybody’s season. So all the naysayers are just blowing smoke up their own behinds, because anything can happen in the playoffs.

  41. Maybe you should tell your chiefs to get off the can… maybe we won’t kick it SO hard.

  43. Fact: Peyton, it’s time to take a seat. You will not win a Superbowl for Denver – so what’s the point?

  44. Why would you dummies say that the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders are celebrating.. The last 3 years Peyton has owned your teams 18-1… Yes 18 wins vs AFC west teams! 1 loss! If anything you should be hanging your heads knowing he’s coming back to destroy your teams for another year!

  45. Wonder how the Broncos are trying to cook this books this time in their quest for a third superbowl ring*.

*Note: Denver was found to have cheated the salary cap in their previous 2 superbowl winning season.

  46. How about some truth. QBs less efficient in the playoffs than Manning: Troy Aikman, Brett Favre, Steve Young, Phillip Rivers, Ben Rothlisberger, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, Rodger Staubach, Jim Kelly. Tom Brady is 1/2 point above Manning. Truth.

  52. Pats fans have gotten awfully arrogant and annoying since Seattle gave them that 4th ring. I’m almost ashamed I rooted for them in the SB, but the only fans currently more annoying than NE are the Seattle fans.

  53. Enough on the Patriots “great” SB win. Carroll gift wrapped the game. They were a hand off away from losing the game! Let’s see how great they are when they finally have to travel to Denver for their regular season game. This has determined home field for the AFC the last three seasons and will again this year as well. Denver wins the SB and Manning retires!

No, the truth is that it’s all about winning the Super Bowl, that’s the goal.

    Like it or not.

  56. PM at 39 should be counted on for 28 td’s/12 int, nothing more. The rest of the team is pretty much stacked, the pathetic o-line aside. That said, their biggest problem is that they’re soft, no defiance, grit and/or confidence in the face of adversity. Maybe it will change with new staff but Broncos fans should expect another 12-4 season and no more than one win in the playoffs.

  57. The game will miss Manning in September through December, but not in the post season or with his record 9 “one and dones”, most of which were at home. Tom Brady has 1 “one and done”. Please don’t compare those two when it comes to the post season. Those “efficiency” ratings are nice, but really don’t tell the story of a quarterback who has had a penchant for throwing bad passes at the worst time in his biggest games. He has piled up a bunch of incredible statistics against some really bad teams in so many regular season games and has been a better regular season quarterback than any other in history. That includes Tom Brady and Joe Montana. Manning and the Broncos can win 10 or 11 games next season. That is why they should bring him back, even at $19 million. The alternative is not good.

  58. Best regular season QB of all time – the guy was soooo lucky to face Rex Friggen Grossman in the Super Bowl

All that being said the NFL is more fun to watch with him in it – and his SNL United Way parody is still one of the funniest things ever (google it if you haven’t seen it)

  59. Time is ultimate Democrat…. You can’t cheat it, bribe it, and you certainly can’t outrun it…. time has caught Peyton, and it would be embarrassing and demeaning for him to come back, and not win the Ring….. time to hang it up…

  60. As a Patriots fan I’ve never had anything but respect for Manning. The guy will be remembered for being one of the best that ever played quarterback; however, I hope he calls it a career.. for his own good.

His lack of velocity on the ball is going to be taken advantage of by opposing secondaries in 2015.

Returning, with the idea of a “Jeter/Rivera” sort of farewell tour isn’t going to end well.

  61. Peyton’s Broncos are 3-10 against division-winning QB’s. In 2014 they only beat one playoff QB (Luck week 1) who they eventually lost to in the playoffs. Their only shot at a SB came at the expense of Gronk’s ACL. They are set up to dominate the average teams in the NFL.

  62. Corey Dillon, Dominique Rhodes, and Joseph Addai are all better running backs than Barry Sanders was…Hakeem Nicks, David Tyree, and Danny Amendola are better receivers than Randy Moss and TO! Just a few examples of fact because they have more rings! Anyone want to argue with my logic? Waiting, Waiting, Waiting! I didn’t think so. This is the same ridiculous argument that you homers keep making about Brady and Manning. Compare the success of both over the past 10 years (post spygate). SB wins 1 each, SB losses 2 each, AFC Championship wins head to head 2 each, wins pretty even, more passing yards Manning, more td passes Manning, higher completion % Manning, higher QBR Manning, fewer interceptions Brady…let’s add them up…what do you know, Manning wins. Fans will be fans and ignorance will forever be the kryptonite of those who can’t see that Manning and Brady are both amazing, and their “rivalry” is the heart and soul of the NFL. Who really cares who we think is the greatest…you know what they say about opinions!!!!!!

  63. The longer Peyton hangs on the sadder this whole thing gets. In some circles he is becoming known as ‘Mr one-and-done’. It’s a sad thing to watch someone who was once great refuse to admit it.

I see the Pats haters are still out there, speaking all sorts of calumny against us.

Some of us are punks, some of us are arrogant and ALL of us are obnoxious, which is quite understandable given the facts – since a certain 6th round draft choice (#199 overall) showed up we’ve won 4 SB, (been in 6 of them), 10 out of the last 12 AFC East titles, scored 14 4th quarter points in the most recent SB against the best D in the league – never done before, BTW – and in general probably pissed off lots of folks.

I’ve consulted my friend the noted Dr. I. M. Goofy about this phenomenon of so many hating people hating the Pats. He gave it a lot of thought – long enough to have two glasses of average white whine – and then he scratched his beard, farted, and gave it a name:

    ——————-

He might get them to the playoffs but he isn’t going to win the playoffs.

If Denver’ goal is the same as the vikings, to make the playoffs and lose, then keeping Manning is fine. He’ll win games early in the year when it’s warm and he hasn’t been hit much yet.

But if the goal is to actually win it all, Manning isn’t taking any team to a Super Bowl and winning it.

Take off the beer goggles, wipe off his make up and you’ll hate yourself in the morning. You’ll wonder why you wasted the best years of so many good players careers on an old, broken down Peyton Manning.

  65. Let’s see, Manning will be making $19 million next year. Tom Brady will be making $7million. Brady is playing at a reduced salary which is not guaranteed (at his request) so the Patriots have money to pay other players.

Which one is the team player?

  66. I can see 19 million reasons why Moneying wants to come back next season. I guess the Pats will just have to embarrass him at Mile High Stadium this year.

  67. I am someone that highly respects Peyton Manning and would hate to see something happen to him, love ya Peyton but it’s time.

  68. As for the Chargers/Chiefs and Raiders fans on here, the Broncos are 17-1 against your 3 teams since Manning came to Denver.
Only loss was in 2013 at home against SD.
How is it that Manning returning, helps your three teams?

  69. In case you haven’t noticed or kept up with the news, part of Manning’s discussion with the Broncos brass will be contract restructuring if he decides to come back. Brady is still making his money as we’ll, he has just restructured so his cap number is lower. Also, what about Brees, Flacco, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, soon-to-be Luck, Ryan? All will be making more than Brady or Manning either one…that is business. You assume Manning is greedy and not a team player…that is a joke! He has restructured his contract in the past as we’ll. he also requested not to be the highest paid QB when with the Colts and when signing with Denver. He had an open check if he had chosen Tennessee instead of Denver. He declined the offer because he wants to win! Furthermore, check Manning’s charitable giving a. Tell me another player who does more…you won’t find one. Give the hate a rest.

  70. As a Raider fan I’d have much rather seen Brock Osweiler starting for Denver this year. As a man, a player, and competitor, I really don’t understand any of the hate or trash talk towards Peyton Manning.

The guy couldn’t have done a better job at doing all the right things, and still is despite being 38 years old. No way in h**l i’d count Peyton out of next years superbowl just yet.

  71. Pay him $19 million and take a $21.5 million cap hit in 2015. Release him and eat $5.0 million in dead money or get him to renegotiate. The Broncos play 7 playoff teams next year plus the usual home and home with KC and SD. That is no easy road to 12-13 wins and home field throughout. Peytons record in road playoff games is 2-4 including a win at Baltimore where he played horribly, only to have McNair play worse. His nine one and dones in 14 years of postseason play is record that will never be matched. Why shoot for 10.

  72. I don’t understand why there is so much hatred for Peyton. He may not win a SuperBowl but is better than most QBs out there. At this point, if he is willing to give another year a try & Broncos are ok with it, then it is worth it. The alternative is not that attractive.
Even if he doesn’t win in playoffs again, it would have been worth a try as without him, they might be last or 3rd in the division and may not even make the playoffs!

Praise your Brady, or whoever you want to but hating a soon HOF QB is bad.

  73. People don’t hate manning. They think he is vastly overrated. You earn Papa John’s commercials in the regular season. You earn a legacy in the playoffs.

  74. After next season Manning will be the career leader in Passing Yards and passing TD’s. By the way Manning has been in a broncos jersey for 3 seasons now and has had to play in New England all 3 seasons. The only time tom tom has had to play in denver was in the playoffs he LOST!!! So last time tom tom and Peyton have played each other in the playoffs MANNING WON!!!!

  75. I love how Many Pats fans try to hate on manning with only his playoff record. Its obvious pats fans are still insecure that manning will own all the records and MVP’s.. Pasts fans just won the super bowl yet are still hatting on Manning returning trying to say he is washed up and done. Yet correct me if I’m wrong but who has more recently won A MVP in this league and manning had a better statistical season than Brady this year with the same record lol.. Yep definitely washed up

  76. Pats fans are insecure for good reason.

FOREVER, as long as football exists, history books will show their success followed by…

“But Belichick and Brady were punished multiple times for cheating and it’s anyone’s guess what, if any, success they would have had if they hadn’t.”

From the fans all the way to the top, they are classless organization who have ruined the integrity of the game. I think it’s obvious that due to our being in a time of war over the past 14 years, that the NFL has bent over backwards to make sure that the current league dynasty was called the Patriots*.

That said, I am sure Denver fans are letting out a sigh of relief. Without Manning, they would stand no chance at making the playoffs and would be bottom feeders in the AFC West.

Do you haters just thumb down because it is fun? I am still waiting for someone to rationally dispute my last post…please be intelligent when you try!

    —————————————-

I’ll have to agree with your other post. It’s sad that so many judge players by the amount of rings and playoff wins they have had during their career. Fact is, football is a team sport and when entering the playoffs, it takes the entire team to to win or lose a game from the players to the coaches.

In the case of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, it’s no contest, Manning is a much better QB with a much better skill set. Kind of like comparing Dan Marino to Joe Montana. Two of these QB’s benefited more from the systems they played in, while the other two had less talent and a lesser scheme to work around. Also in Manning’s case, he played on teams that didn’t try to bend the rules, and didn’t have the NFL in their back pocket. Put Dan Mariono on the 49er’s and he would more than likely won more Super Bowls than Montana did, as he had far more talent and just as much upstairs.(Not knocking Montana, as he was a great QB as well)

Same with Manning. Put him on the Patriots*, and they would have still won Super Bowls, and done so without the help of the NFL or any bending of the rules. He has more knowledge of the game and far more talent than Tom Brady. patsie* fans can thumb me down al lthey want, but it’s the truth. I’ll give it to Brady, he is clutch, but take him off the Patriots, and he would be nothing more than average at best.

  80. Let me put it in better perspective for Patriots* fans/bandwagoniers.

Saying Tom brady is better than Manning because he won more Super Bowls(in a team sport) is like saying Kirk Hammet from Metallica is a better guitar player than Yngwie Malmsteen because he plays in a band that sells far more albums and sells out hockey arenas all over the world. It’s just not true, and that is the case here. Peyton Manning is THE best QB of the modern era, period!

  81. The Broncos still have a better chance to go to the Super Bowl with a 40 year old Peyton Manning then with anyone else they could find to take his place.

    ——–

Without a doubt the greatest regular season quarterback in the history of football. If you want big regular season fantasy numbers and stat padding, Manning is your guy. There has never been another regular season quarterback like him.

  83. I don’t understand why there is so much hatred for Peyton.

No Patriots fan hates Peyton Manning.

Saying Brady is better – which he is – is not hating on the guy. 🙂

  84. Take Manning off the Colts… they are still a playoff team and more than capable of winning a game once there. #evenTebowdidit

Take Brady off the Patriots…not a playoff team.

  85. It’s sad to read the rude and undeserved comments towards Mannig from some fans, the gay is a hall of famer and the league is better with him in it. He just want to play and some of you jerks are acting like you are going to pay his salary. You can question his talent but nobody has the right to critique his face or the shape of his head, that’s stupid. Go back to your
    8 to 5 jobs clowns

  86. Fact: Peyton has a better passer rating than Brady in the playoffs. Look it up.

    —-

I did look it up and it’s not a fact at all actually.

    Brady’s is .5 points better.

  87. Like I said b4 Manning or no Manning the AFC West is now up for grabs with the up and coming Raiders on the verge of taking over that division…and thats just for starters…with a decent draft this year and a key FA OR 2 the sky is the limit for us….tell you one thing its nice seeing the choke master Broncos falling apart and its only Feb..btw John Elway has a losing record as a player to only one team…and guess what team that is…yep thats right look it up …lol

  88. “Take Manning off the Colts”

Haha I meant Broncos. Although the same was true about the Colts. See Luck, Andrew.

  89. More Brady/Manning fun:

Passer ratings for each QB’s last Super Bowl run.

    Manning: 70.5
    Brady: 100.2

    🙂

  90. Brady has to come to Denver this year… So that means Brady will lose, better hope you can deflate some balls and get that number one spot again… Cause you won’t get out of denver when Peyton’s healthy cheating riots!!

  91. Oh and Brady didn’t play a healthy Seattle…. So that’s not a good comparison.. unless you wanna add in the games both teams played against the same opponents… Rams(ugh) but also the Chiefs, Chargers… Remember them? The pats couldn’t get to the playoffs if they were in the AFC west!!!

  92. Peyton is the NFL’s greatest choke artist, doesn’t just lose playoff games but flames out of them like a meteor.

    Peyton: 9 one-and-dones in playoffs
    Brady: 9 AFC championship games

    No contest.

  93. Peyton-all playoff games without cheating..
Brady-loses Super Bowls without cheating… And that’s with Randy Moss as his receiver…
    Um yeah, still a contest.

  94. The sad thing about this is even though Timmy Tebow wasn’t that good (other than beating us in the playoffs), he could have sat under Peyton Manning and maybe he might have learned how to be a quarterback.

  95. Peyton-all playoff games without cheating..
Brady-loses Super Bowls without cheating… And that’s with Randy Moss as his receiver…
    Um yeah, still a contest.

    ———

Number of Super Bowls Peyton Manning has won since we heard that fake crowd noise CD skipping on national TV:

  96. 28-24.

You Patriots haters didn’t forget already did you? 🙂

  97. The Denver Broncos… the only team in the history of the National Football League to be fined for taping practices.

    #truthhurts
    #cheaters

  98. Some of these comments are amusing. Manning is like Aaron Rodgers – perfectly capable of winning in the postseason with a little help from some players and coaches.

Someone brought up the Ravens game in the AFC Champ game. Manning didn’t give up the long pass, Manning didn’t playcall that kneeldown, Manning didn’t miss an easy field goal, Manning didn’t forget about the pass rush (which Del Rio did in every postseason game during Manning’s stay here), blah blah.

  99. If Manning comes back next year he will extend some of his existing records and probably break a few more. But one record may very well stand forever. He will set the “One-and-done’ playoff record to almost insurmountable “10”. Think of that. The chances that any future QB makes it to the postseason 10 times are slim enough. But then what are the chances that said QB loses in their 1st playoff appearance 10 times? Not likely this record will ever be broken.
