Ex-Colts offensive tackle Xavier Nixon is rejoining the club with whom he began his professional career.
According to the NFL’s personnel notice, Nixon was awarded to Washington on waivers on Friday.
The 24-year-old Nixon signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent in May 2013 and began his rookie season on its practice squad. The Colts signed him to their roster in September 2013, and he went on to play eight regular-season games in two seasons with Indianapolis, making two starts. Indianapolis placed him on waivers on Thursday.
Nixon played collegiately at Florida, starting 33 games for the Gators and earning all-conference honors in 2012.
