Falcons sign linebacker Allen Bradford

New Falcons head coach Dan Quinn is already bringing players with him from Seattle to Atlanta.

The Falcons have signed former Seahawks linebacker Allen Bradford.

Bradford was the only player that had been on the Seahawks practice squad or practice squad injured reserve list not signed to a future contract following the Super Bowl. Bradford was active for just one game for Seattle last season while splitting time between the active roster and the practice squad.

Bradford had spent time with the Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns in 2014.

Atlanta’s defense ranked last in the league. Bradford can play middle linebacker and is a competent special teams player.

Bradford may not be the only one to follow Quinn to Atlanta. Byron Maxwell and Malcolm Smith are among defensive free agents from Seattle that likely won’t be able to retained by the Seahawks. Either one could become targets of the Falcons as well.

  1. Allen Bradford is no match for current Falcons powerhouse MLB Paul Worrilow, the Tackling Machine, the Undrafted Wunderkid, the White Jessie Tuggle, the Less Expensive Keith Brooking, the Second Best Falcon 55…….

    Camp body. ❗

  2. I doubt that Bradford will bump any starters out, but he has great instincts and will go 100%, all the time. That’s one thing he’s bringing with him from the Seahawks; go all out on every play, even in practice. Another is familiarity with Quinn’s defensive schemes and philosophy, which should be a help to the team in the transition period.

It’s a pretty safe bet that Dan Quinn knows his qualities, and he grabbed him for a reason. He may surprise some of you Falcon fans. Good luck with the new head coach. He’ll be missed in Seattle.

  3. Too bad Quinn doesn’t take KJ can’t cover to save his life Wright, LB burned by Gronk for touchdown in the SB. Why the hawks keep that guy is way beyond me. He shouldn’t be a starter at LB for anyone in this league. The guy can’t run and is useless at LB!
