The Broncos placed linebacker Nate Irving on injured reserve in November with a knee injury that required surgery, which isn’t the best of developments for a player on his way to free agency.

Irving avoided a torn ACL or other injury severe enough to limit hopes of contributing in 2015, however, and it seems that a market is developing for the four-year veteran. Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that teams are showing interest in bringing Irving on board to help their defense.

With the Broncos moving to a 3-4 that will kick Danny Trevathan and Brandon Marshall inside, they may not be putting themselves on that list this offseason.

Irving was in his first season as a full-time member of the starting lineup in Denver and picked up 46 tackles in eight starts before being lost for the season. Irving’s biggest strengths lie in his work against the run and he’s likely to focus on that end of things wherever he winds up playing in 2015.
