It remains to be seen whether the Jets will land the biggest cornerback prize in free agency, Darrelle Revis. But the Jets are expected to make an upgrade at the position.

Buster Skrine, who started all 16 games for the Browns last year, is expected to sign with the Jets, according to Adam Caplan of ESPN.

A 2011 fifth-round pick of the Browns, Skrine has steadily improved over the course of his career and should make an instant impact on the Jets’ defense. Of course, it would help if the Jets can also sign Revis, which would mean Skrine never has to cover the opposing No. 1 receiver.

Skrine was the No. 48 player on our list of the Top 100 free agents in the NFL.
