Percy Harvin to visit the Bills

Percy Harvin has been released by the Jets, but he may reunite with coach Rex Ryan.

Harvin’s first free agent visit will be with the Bills, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Buffalo’s offense has already added running back LeSean McCoy, quarterback Matt Cassel and guard Richie Incognito, and the Bills are also in talks with fullback Jerome Felton and tight end Charles Clay. It’s clear that the Bills want to upgrade their offense, and signing Harvin would be another step in that direction.

Ryan got a first-hand look at Harvin over the second half of last season, and he apparently liked what he saw of Harvin’s talents on the field — and Harvin’s attitude on the practice field, which has been questioned at times. If the Bills can get him at the right price, signing Harvin would make a lot of sense.

  1. Tom Brady still plays for New England. I Love Wrecks’ obsession with The Patriots. Second place, Buffalo.

  2. Good! I don’t want him playing for my team. Not the least bit interested in that head case who can’t carve out a role at any position. Maybe an overpriced return guy.

Percy Harvin, LeSean McCoy, Sammy Watkins, plus that defense…I think I could play QB and the team would go 10-6 and get a Wild Card.

Gotta love those Bills, sort of the “Anti-Eagles” !! Hey Chip, you can KEEP Riley, he couldn’t start for us with all the new team speed !!!!!!!!

  4. I was wondering which team would overpay for this guy. May as well be Buffalo, but someone is going to pay dearly for promise over production.

  5. If my calculations are correct the Bills only have between $13-$15 mil left in available cap space and they are going to throw a big chunk of that at TE Clay.

  6. Will you just look at ‘dem Bills! Now, that’s how to make a FA splash this year, beginning with new ownership….so that’s all it took!

  7. If Harvin has matured this could be a great move for the bills. On the flip side, locker room cancer Percy could be the worst thing that could happen to the Bills and Sammy Watkins, kinda like Randy Moss coming back to Minnesota was a huge negative for the Vikings and the then impressionable Harvin.

  8. who says they’re going to overpay? very interesting to see what the actual market is for Harvin at this point.

  9. Buffalo fans on here like they already won something…I don’t blame your excitement but I ask that you temper it and look like cool winners rather than loud, dumb losers (as is Rex’s forte)

  10. The Bills are this decades version of the nineties Redskins. Congratulations Buffalo, you are currently the offseason champions. However, you’ll assume your rightful place at the conclusion of the 2015 season, i.e. 2nd, 3rd or 4th place in the division. And New England will assume theirs. Say it with me, 1st place. Again.

Bills are still NFL’s punchline….NE first, and always will be, but you can dream.

  12. As a Jets fan, I hope he goes to the Bills for a 6MM/year salary.

When he’s not hurt and feels like playing he’s really good at those sweeps and runs. He’s disappointing as a WR.

  13. What happened in Seattle ought to raise red flags for other teams. Pete Carroll is an absolute players’ coach and this guy still was a skunk at the picnic.

  14. Lol, any thoughts joetoronto??

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about @justintuckrule. Head scratchers.

  15. I’m not a Bills fan but happy for their fans that the team is making some solid moves. A lot of people dog on Rex but he’s fun and good for the league. Buffalo and their fans are overdue for some success. My only warning is that as a Hawks fan I know all to well the good and bad that Harvin can bring to a team and locker room.

The NFL has one thing to say to Cheatreots fans everywhere..

    And that’s “*”

  17. AFC East just took the place of the NFC West as the best division in the NFL.

i love all the moves but please chill. it’s march.

  18. Him in Buffalo would replace the Rams and Cardinals as the league’s greatest roster minus a quarterback.

  19. as a giants fan i can tell all of the pft readers that here in western ny the locals don`t take kindly to this type of new player coming in to buffalo. they trust players that have had some sort of history with the team (i.e….drafted or free agent that has signed a second contract ) and they think all others will not like it here. believe it or not western ny is an incredibly beautiful place if you love the outdoors (camping, fishing, hunting, biking….etc) and i guess the types of people in buffalo are just very loyal. its just the way they are as bills fans.

  20. Come on, billscastdotcom, it’s fun. I can’t get enough. Your Super Bowl XLIX Champions, The New England Patriots.

  21. joetorontoad,

I never said I thought my team was going to have it easy. The one constant in the NFL is change. The Patriots just adapt to it better than most. Sure, there’s plenty of turnover on The Patriots roster, just like every other team. I’m not going to run through a litany of names because I assume you get the point. I actually think The Bills are doing a fine job, and Rex has the best record of any team in the NFL against The Patriots. I just believe, firmly, that when the season is over, New England will win the division. It’s nothing personal. Heck, I think most of us are just having a little fun on here, no?

  22. As a Skins I will miss Helu. Nice change of pace back after Morris, great catching passes out of the back field. Could be an every down back if given the opportunity.

Things for Raiders fans to watch for though, he has a history of foot injuries and he is horrible with a capital H at pass blocking and blitz pick up. Good coaching can help with the pass blocking, but do the Raiders have said good coaching?

DUDE ! It’s the Bills what would you have them do ? I’m not a Bills fan myself but i’m pretty glad to see them making positive strides versus laying in the gutter with no chance to get out.
