Guard Paul Fanaika signing with Chiefs

Paul Fanaika

Former Arizona Cardinals guard Paul Fanaika is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fanaika is set to sign a three-year deal with the team, per Herbie Teope of ChiefsDigest.com. The signing was confirmed by Fanaika’s agent, Marc Lillibridge.

Fanaika started 30 games at right guard for the Cardinals over the last two seasons. His signing with the Chiefs provides a reunion with head coach Andy Reid.

Reid, then head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, selected Fanaika in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Fanaika was waived at the end of training camp. Faniaka then bounced around with the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks.

He appeared in just three games for the Seahawks in reserve duty before joining the Cardinals in 2013.

UPDATE Mar. 12 8:45 p.m. ET: The deal with Fanaika is a three-year deal worth $8.1 million, a source told PFT.
