The Falcons reportedly had interest in signing tight end Lance Kendricks, but he’s decided to stay in St. Louis.

The Rams announced Wednesday that they have re-signed the four-year veteran. They didn’t offer any details on the contract, but Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reported Tuesday that the sides were working on a four-year deal in the neighborhood of $18.5 million.

Kendricks was a second-round pick in 2011 and is coming off a year that saw him catch 27 passes for 259 yards and five touchdowns. Kendricks usually finds himself in more of a blocker role with the Rams as Jared Cook is the top receiving target at the position, but his 13 touchdowns over the last three seasons show that he can be a nice red zone target for Nick Foles in 2015.

Kendricks may not be the only free agent from last year’s offense back with the club. Wide receiver Kenny Britt has been talking to the team about a return after leading the team in receiving yards last year.
